I was impatient, and picked up over watch instead. I'll check back on home front next month, hopefully it will have a patch by then as well. Thanks for the reply and +rep.

Lol sure if you think asian = arab or india, seriously dude ...?

The game is actually pretty good, sure it lacks polish compared to ubisoft far cry but the core gameplay is pretty solid...

There are some nasty graphics related problems and massive performance drops in certain situations that made the game unplayable at that moments but I still prefer this than far cry primal.

My new guide is up!
Quote:
Intro:

HomeFront - The Revolution has a bug which overly uses a single thread in CPU dominent locations, leaving other threads under-utilized. This has been as issue in other games such as Far Cry 4, which has been patched since. This utilization issue reduces FPS, increases input delay and may cause some stuttering.

Solution:

Quote:
1) Launch game.
2) Alt + Tab out of the game. (If you can't, press CTRL + ALT + DEL and select Task Manager, then ignore step 3)
3) Load Task Manager.
4) Go to the Detail tab.
5) Right click on HomeFront's .exe process.
5) Click on "Set Affinity".
6) Untick "All Processors", then tick each thread one by one.
7) Click OK and Alt + Tab back into the game.

Sorry if I'm wrong, but perhaps you are making an insinuation? I made the guide 3 days and 4 hours ago from this very point at which I'm posting this message, but made changes to that guide today. I've not seen this fix posted anywhere else. Then again I've not looked. I also made a guide which is identical to this one (same steps), but for Far Cry 4 a few days after the game was released.

Nah just that affinity fix was found by someone on some forum like 5-7 days ago (cant recall which one at the moment). basically a bunch of news outlets picked it up and only one gave him credit. Just saying the fix was something he found.

Edit, actually found it, it was DSO gaming on the 21st. Bunch of sites copied it and didnt give them any props. Kind of like posting a driver first in the news section, and someone posting the driver in the driver section. The guy who posts it in the news section should get the credit, no?tongue.gif

Jokes aside, I was simply saying someone had this fix up a while back, no dig on you.

Sidenote-picked the game up based on your recommendation, if it sucks I will hound you til you die.

I've not told you to buy the game have I? I just said I like it and it looks good. The game gets good a few hours in. Sure, it has it's performance issues, but the fix helps with much of that. If you don't like, just request a Steam refund.

You'll like it. It's good, especially when a town is on lockdown and you have to sneak around. It has a Half Life 2 feel to it.

Been playing through this game and I really like it so far. It is def better than the first and is a lot longer so far. I am almost at the end I think (just released all the prisoners) and glad I took your advice and bought it.
