BSOD - seems random (ntoskrnl.exe & Xeno7x64.sys)

I have been having random BSOD. I have not done anything different on my PC. I had this issue a while back and it was related to Nvidia drivers. If I updated and didn't do a clean install, I would get the BSOD. Around November I upgraded to a Nvidia GTX 970, but didn't notice any BSOD. About a month ago I started getting frequent BSODs. Sometimes not for days, sometimes multiple times a day. They would happen even when I was not using the PC. I did a clean install of Nvidia drivers but no dice. I ran Sysnative BSOD Collection app but it hung at "Recoveros" and Page File...

I can see this making sense since I have no pagefile, and used the windows hotfix so I can still get dumps. (I recieved BSOD with page file as well). I closed Sysnative and zipped what was there and ran a perfmon report.
I followed instructions on a previous thread about using driver verifier, and I received BSOD at boot. I did a restore point, and using BlueScreenView I saw ntoskrnl.exe highlighted in red as normal with the addition of Wdf01000.sys and MijXfilt.sys. MijXfilt.sys is related to motionjoy, a bluetooth ps3 controller driver. I completely removed it. I did not try driver verifier again.
Here is what I have of Sysnative folder and perfmon:
perfmon.zip 150k .zip file SysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip 1371k .zip file
Thank you in advance for any help.

Well at this point it's either one of two problems.

A hardware problem or a corrupted OS problem.

I can't look at the zip files since I'm at work.

  • I'd try removing the video card and running off the iGPU to see if it is a video card problem.
  • Test RAM with Memtest +86
  • If still BSOD, wipe and reinstall Windows.

Thank you for the response. I figured I may have to end up doing a clean install. It's gunna be some time before I get a chance, but I will be sure to report back here to let others know the outcome.thumb.gif
