Linking two sound cards

Hi,
I have a question about the audio connection: Can I link two audio cards so that broadcast the same signal output? I mean connect an external sound card via an optical cable with integrated on board.

WHY
1) All connectors are connected. I do not want over and over again disconnecting the sound from the rear to connect headphones.
2) I do not have a computer running two soundcards I would not have to switch.
3) Front audio is sucks

Thx
