I5 4690k @ 4.3ghz to I7 5930k upgrade worth it?

My current setup is below. Is it worth the upgrade to the 5930k? PS.

That really depends what you do with your system. If it's primarily just gaming you probably won't see a huge difference in most games, though some do take advantage of the additional cores and hyperthreading. If you are doing any kind of content creation or heavy computing that uses the extra threads then there is a huge difference.

You might want to look at the 5820k. It's the same CPU as the 5930k but with fewer PCI lanes. It still has plenty to run SLI (8 lanes each I believe?) but comes in a couple hundred dollars cheaper.

95% gaming. I notice in some games my cpu utilization is 90% or higher. Is that due to clock speed or how many cores i have?

More to do with cores. As an example i upgraded my 4670K to 4790K and in BF4 multi Cpu use went from 95-99% to 55-70%

Any reason why the 5930K over the 5820K? I had a 4690K I killed and went to my 5820K.

After having crossfire I vouged to only have a single card set up ever again.

I will say though, I'm kinda happy the 4690K died. I let my PC run 24/7 right? I can run CS:GO, browse the web, do whatever. Max CPU usage according to after burner right now: 32%

I am at 4.6ghz on my 5820K though keep in mind. If you get one of these chips you gotta make sure you get a board that supports the OC socket so you can push your uncore higher. 4690K and skylake can do a little better in single thread performance unless you do so.

Keep in mind these chips dont come with a cooler, so be prepared, they are spicy chips.

I would only get the 5930K if you REALLY believe you are going to do a SLI set up in the future, even with 16x/8x I know i'll be ok if I take that route.

Dunno if $800 CAD is a good deal or not since i'm American. I paid $520ish USD for my 5820K+mobo+16GBs.

What motherboard is it? Is it used?

Honestly haven't noticed any major difference, though i did read somewhere GTA5 benefits from having extra cores/threads
