Windows 10 Freezing Issue

Thread Starter
So for awhile now my PC will just random freeze even if I'm not using it. No blue screen, just frozen screen and mouse will not move. I must hard reset it. Is what is weird also is that when the computer freezes, it will also freeze my internet connection on my router. The computer is hardwired to the router and the router internet light will turn orange and any wireless device will lose internet too. As soon as I restart the PC the router internet light switches back to blue. The event viewer doesn't show anything that corresponds to the same time as the frozen time on the computer. I've haven't used event viewer much, so I may be looking in the wrong place to find the info to fix the issue. Before I upgraded to windows 10 I was having the same issue on windows 8.1.

The computer is
Asus P8p67
Sandy I2500k (stock clocks) since freezing issue
EVGA 760GTX
San Disk Pro 512 SSD
Using onboard ethernet

TP link archer C9 router

Any ideas on tracking down what is causing my problem?

Very weird, I haven't came across an issue where if the router got stuck/froze then it would freeze the computer its connected to.

If you have any custom settings applied to your router, I would just reset its settings to default to see if your issues would be fixed.

I would go into windows event viewer > windows drop down > system > filter to critical + error only and see what type of reports are over there.

I hope this gives you an idea, good luck. thumb.gif
