Win 8.1 Black Screen after post

Right after the BIOS screen, display signal is lost.
Initially booted in safe mode and proceeded to uninstall the graphic card driver. I then booted fine with display but after installing and restarting, display lost again.
Changing the output port fixes the issue but I always have to switch of port after booting... not cool.
I had Crimson drivers since release, now I have the hotfix version. I never had any issue since the release of crimson driver before it suddenly started to happen. I installed a mod manager for shogun 2 but I used it for at least 1 week until the issue arose. Fresh install is my last resort =\

P.S. Complete virus scan with Avira shows nothing.

Does the screen say anything about out of sync or just goes completely black? Also does your motherboard have an on board GPU and an aftermarket GPU?
