Any advice for a basic/cheap watercooling system? - Page 2

N400 is not a case you want to watercool.
Look at the Define S http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352055

I actually wasn't after watercooling at all, just wanted to downsize from the gigantic full-ATX case I'm using but don't need. After ordering, I saw the N400 had space for more radiators and was just curious if it would be worth it and what I'd need.
the N400 has room for very thin radiators. but thats about it. the side mount appears to be partially blocked by the hard drive bays so getting 55+ mm of combined radiator and fan may not work. The top has the same problem with being blocked by the RAM and possibly the motherboard itself.

For the price for the Define S compared to N400 is $20.
You get more value and performance in the Define S.

The rad on the side is for an AIO 30mm rad only with fan.
Top is offset like in the Define S and 240 can fit, again only slim 30-35mm rads only.
Just too limited.

The N400 has already shipped. If anything, I'll just stick with my current cooling and not bother with a full watercooling setup. Like I said, I was just curious, not really driven by any needs.
probably better off with sticking with air. I have spent way too much on watercooling my computer. Something like $1200 on hardware and another $200 making a custom case. Its probably an unhealthy addiction.

Even for air cooling N400 is lacking.
Just refuse the package when you get it. Order the Define S.

If you want something better than H60. There is the Swiftech H220-X2.

If you do change your mind down the road and want to go water I'd suggest skipping the AIO kits and just starting with custom from the get go.

Swiftech is a good start, I'll be buying from them for my next build.

I just want to add that although you don't "need" to watercool a 960, I did because it dropped my GPU load temps from ~65 to ~42, that's ~20c less heat being swirled around in my case, (and less fan noise also). What you have to ask yourself is this, is it worth ~$130 for a waterblock for those ~20c? It was for me because I had the cash and wanted to do it a lot for ascetics as well.
