So lets see!

Same here. So far its a very nice pad. I can't speak for the normal sized ones but the XLarge feels as smooth as a G-SR. This says something, because I have the Qpad UC 90 too. Same size, no stitched edges that one and you can feel uneven waves with the UC on fast swipes. The Alioth is just flat and even. Except for the outer edges of course, but that is typical for stitched edges. Due to the size of the XLarge is is not an issue though (it might be with smaller versions). Pretty sure you can flatten it completely over time, but its good to be able to use it out the box.

Minor issue: the stitched edges have some thicker points on the XLarge version. I guess that at least the XXLarge will have this too. It seems like there are 2 points where the stitching joins (coming from the left and right). Unfortunately one such point is close to my mouse cable and I can feel the cable scratching over it on fast swipes. Its not much but something I'd like to see Mionix improve in the future.

I recently acquired a Castor and an Alioth. It initially scored 60% SQAT with the default profile, but after I configured it to my preferred settings of 2000dpi and min possible LOD, it scored 90%.

EDIT: Nevermind. I had to bump it up to 1 above min because it couldn't track correctly on half the pad. Back to 60%.

I guess I got lucky with my normal sized version as the stitching joins are on the left and right side of the pad.
But I do understand your point, I rotated my mousepad and I can hear the mouse cable swipe over the stitch join when I game.

My pad has shown some wear, glide change was very minimal and now it's consistent. I'll see how glide changes further over time but for now I'm still loving the pad. If the glide stays like this/similar for a period of 5 months~ or more I'm just going to keep re-ordering one each year. thumb.gif

Unlike the hyperx fury which showed heavy changes to glide and motion became sticky/not possible (since i play super low sensitivity)

Thanks for the continued review.
Did you ever use a Goliathus pad and can compare it to that?

I'm debating wether it's worth it to get one XXLarge because the 50cm height would fit better on my desk than the current 60cm. And Mionix claims it is waterproof ... ? Did anyone test this yet?

Still loving mine as well!

I own 2 cats meaning I have cat hairs flying around my house all day.
Whenever my Mionix pad has some cat hairs on it I can just wipe them off with my hand; it's like non-static and is cleaned really easily!

I just tested if its water resitant and holy crap, it actually is!
I purposely spilled some water on it and it just glides over the surface, it doesn't get wet at all. It's like it has a water resistant coating.
So it passed a water spill test although I am slightly scared to test it with say red wine or hot coffee biggrin.gif

Overall really satisfied with it and the water resistant layer is a very nice feature!

Edit: Did another water test and it got slightly wet, it was easy to wipe it clean though.. It sort off past the test, half rolleyes.gif

How is the glide and the friction on this pad compared to a pad like the QCK heavy?

Does the waterproof/resistant coating keep out stuff like dust, skin oils, grime and etc? I hate when cloth pads inevitably end up with white streaks of grime and other stuff that can't be easily washed off.

Not mine tongue.gif but the old qcks were notorious for ending up like this
Did mionix solve this problem that plagues all cloth pads eventually?
... Lol you solve that by washing the pad with cold water dude

This one hasn't been out long enough for anyone to experience that, the glide is fairly smooth but I'd say a new qck heavy is most likely faster on glide, they're similar but not the same
post #49 of 81
Once your mousepad looks like a chalkboard cold water doesn't always work especially once that grime gets caked into the pad fibers.

Okay neat if it's slower than the qck I might get one of the desk pads.

I'm deciding on which deskpad to get either the Glorious XXL or this one in XXL. Which you you guys recommend. I generally like faster pads but have some control.
