depends on what you mean by push around. there are only 3 graphics manufacturers in the world: AMD, Nvidia and Intel so all of them had a say in shaping DX12. you think MS closed all doors and windows and developed DX12 in vacuum from outside world? that's not how it works.

Let me know when you can use an AMD card for PhysX again. thumb.gif

you can use physx with AMD cards if i'm not mistaken, it will just be simulated on CPU and not GPU. but that's beyond the scope of this thread isn't it?

yet you can't grasp the facts AMD GPU's have been found perfectly capable of physX but Nvidia blocked it and forced when it sees a AMD GPU it goes to the CPU.

You also used to be able to have a AMD GPU and Nvidia GPU in same rig and force Nvidia GPU to do the physX but again Nvidia blocked it which I believe was a stupid thing because regardless said person would be also running a Nvidia card it is kind of a dirty move Nvidia made just to be a you know what.

I want to also state Nvidia tried to legally block all of the features just about that make DX12 different they forced many game dev's to change things look at ARK survival evolved DX12 was delayed because Nvidia threw a fit because theyre cards lost performance over theyre emulation instead of hardware solution like AMD did and well ARK survival evolved is a Nvidia gameworks title by the way.

You posited that nvidia would be hamstrung by MS; I'm merely stating that nvidia' has demonstrated the wherewithal to turn off 'features' like this in the past.

Oxide had to work very, very hard to make this happen. Explicit multi-GPU is a dev call 100%, which will limit it.

Interesting allegations, is there anywhere I can read about that, preferably on respectable publication?

Well in financial terms, MS is worth $180B compared to NVIDIA's $7.25B. So I don't think NVIDIA can payoff MS. So what else could they possibly do to make MS not allow multi-brand GPU's? I've never had an ATI/AMD but I would love to get one IF I could use it in conjunction with my NVIDIA. I just don't like change tongue.gif

well lets see it was ready for lime light 2x and the devs said themselfs it worked perfectly then all of a sudden Nvidia blew a gasket because the results for theyre cards went down and in the patch notes I seen it once say something about irregular performance issues with Nvidia cards and they halted its release because of it. This makes it pretty obvious Nvidia was upset things didn't look good on theyre end it has been months since and Nvidia has yet to release drivers to allow it to function and well all info was removed from the patch notes and such about this days later in short Nvidia shut it down.

here is about only thing I can find at sec https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/3l15mn/dx12_ark_survival_evolved_amd_driver/

also a bit of info to read again cant find any definitive stuff https://steamcommunity.com/app/346110/discussions/0/483366528921253820/

keep in mind ARK survival evolved is a Nvidia gameworks title so yes Nvidia has alot of leash to pull and choke the dev's with in short they can literally stranglehold them and force them to do almost anything they want and that is why I hate Nvidia gameworks because it is proprietary and works as a incentive to dev's and puts Nvidia in charge of things it is Nvdias choke collar and leash.

oh come one man, you are grasping for straws here. they just delayed the patch, it will come, why do you always have to see something criminal in nvidia. by the way, Hitman is AMD title, so why is it only DX11 with DX12 nowhere to be seen, let me guess, the evil nvidia is at it again? rolleyes.gif
