I want to also state Nvidia tried to legally block all of the features just about that make DX12 different they forced many game dev's to change things look at ARK survival evolved DX12 was delayed because Nvidia threw a fit because theyre cards lost performance over theyre emulation instead of hardware solution like AMD did and well ARK survival evolved is a Nvidia gameworks title by the way.

As much as I believe this is actually true, it still is only speculation. Might as well be something completely different causing the delay.

This makes it pretty obvious Nvidia was upset things didn't look good on theyre end it has been months since and Nvidia has yet to release drivers to allow it to function and well all info was removed from the patch notes and such about this days later in short Nvidia shut it down.

here is about only thing I can find at sec https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/3l15mn/dx12_ark_survival_evolved_amd_driver/
oh come one man, you are grasping for straws here. they just delayed the patch, it will come, why do you always have to see something criminal in nvidia. by the way, Hitman is AMD title, so why is it only DX11 with DX12 nowhere to be seen, let me guess, the evil nvidia is at it again? rolleyes.gif
well you need to keep in mind that well once again maybe the DEV's didn't want to have to fight with Nvidia given Nvidia has like 75% of the market meening Nvidia has the muscle / money and fanboys behind them to bash the DEV's into submission so this may have a part as to why DX12 isn't currently implimented.

I also want to say I believe also that Nvidia has had many months to get theyre DX12 drivers out and working how long now like 1yr or more and they have yet to do so this again is telling of something dodgy if you ask me.

You better have some proof for statements like that. I really doubt nvidia cares about "open world survival game number 6000" which ran like crap anyway.

@rickcooperjr - I'm coming at this from another perspective.
When the developer is given such greater control in DX12, there is only so much that can be optimized at the driver-level.

I would like to hear this coming directly from Kollock however - and for him to illuminate us on the correspondence with nVidia's driver team through game development.

ARK survival evolved was #1 most streamed and played game and most bought game on steam / twitch / youtube for many months and such so it was no rinky dink game so acting like it was a blah game that didn't get Nvidias attention is literally insane.

Ok i stand corrected, it seems it was more popular then i thought.
Still tough, what proof do you have that they are actively delaying it? And please no "i got a feeling" stuff. Nvdia has a lot of stuff on their plate now including their new generation GPU's in half a year. I rather have them not shouting before they actually did something compared to AMD who has been shouting for DX12 for what now? A year or so while keep getting kicked in the nuts and losing market share along the way.
Do not forsake the present for the future.

I wouldn't put it past nVidia to force developer to not use better API or other features if they thought it would give them big enough advantage. But with Ark it's most likely developer's fault. It's over their head and the console version has still pretty bad performance.

I'd like to believe that but it is not most likely true. Ark is very trashy from the technical standpoint. My friend of mine works with UE4 and he said that Ark still runs on UE4 FPS basic blueprint. Devs most likely thought that they can switch APIs in UE4 and call it a day but 1) it doesnt work this way 2) DX12 in UE4 is a DX11 wrapper ATM.

I wouldn't be suprised if Nvidia left Ark completely just to stay out of it

It's funny how outdated Kepler looks in comparison to GCN.
Yet with those millions of units sold, and total console dominance, they have yet to post a profitable quarter thus far.

It's also unfortunate it's taken this long for GCN to really shine. Things would be better today if AMD had the performance they do now. The 680 would never of been priced the way it was.

Maybe I'll get a Nano if this thing pans out. I enjoy this game pretty much. Just wish more would buy it, instead of using it as a benchmark for one company or another.

Goal posts always change when bias clouds thought. You get used to his stance after a while.

Anandtech is always amusing. No 390 or 390X in the charts?

L – O – L

Not having the 390X in there is beyond unprofessional.
