Exactly. tongue.gif

Its like any form of marketing. The more you get your brand out there, the more familar the public will be to it. Look at Coke. Millions of people drink it. Are people buying it because its the best soda ever or is the name so hammered into they minds (from commericals) that when people want to something to drink, 'Coke' automatically comes to their mind?

I hate Coca Cola.

It's the worst soda among all.

Would you rather they delete their Twitter, and erase any and all references that might even hint a collaboration with AMD existed?
I think you might be missing the point.
From what i understand his point is that AoS a lot less neutral than people here seem to think it is.
This is basically the equivalent of a nvndia gameworks title benchmarks before the game comes out where AMD is losing.

I was not aware that Nvidia allows developers to give AMD the Gameworks render sourcecode to directly modify and submit to the source tree.

If they don't do that, then it's nowhere near the equivalent.

Yeah, I agree. I also mostly buy Coke even though I prefer the taste of Pepsi, strange isn't it? Then again that probably has more to do with my severe addiction to caffeine in general.

Tell me that they and AMD isnt working together and milking this for everything it got. For AMD I totally understand it since its a feature they do better than Nvidia, but for Oxide which is a game developer?

They don`t exactly come across as neutral. AMD AMD AMD rolleyes.gif

I'm not sure you understand the nature of this feature. There are 2 main types of tasks for a GPU, graphics and compute. D3D12 exposes main 2 queue types, a universal queue (compute and graphics), and a compute queue. For Ashes, use of this feature involves taking compute jobs which are already part of the frame and marking them up in a way such that hardware is free to coexecute it with other work. Hopefully, this is a relatively straightfoward tasks. No additional compute tasks were created to exploit async compute. It is merely moving work that already exists so that it can run more optimally. That is, if async compute was not present, the work would be added to the universal queue rather than the compute queue. The work still has to be done, however.

The best way to think about it is that the scene that is rendered remains (virtually) unchanged. In D3D12 the work items are simply arranged and marked in a manner that allows parallel execution. Thus, not using it when you could is seems very close to intentionally sandbagging performance.

Sigh, instead of actually countering my point you went after a specific sentence and "countered" me that way.
Once again, AoS is NOT neutral, they are hand in hand with AMD while nvidia hanging on the back somewhere which is completely fine, if people stopped pretending that this 1 game shows the future of the next 5year.

Is he implying Oxide is somehow deliberately crippling nVidia's performance then? Because thus far we have seen absolutely no evidence of that.

If by "not neutral" you mean "taking advantage of features that AMD has that nVidia may or may not have", well then whoop-dee-freaking-do. Go buy an AMD card if you have a problem with that. I mean that's the argument thrown around when AMD users complain about Gameworks, so surely it goes the other way too.
