Once again, AoS is NOT neutral, they are hand in hand with AMD while nvidia hanging on the back somewhere which is completely fine, if people stopped pretending that this 1 game shows the future of the next 5year.

No, I countered your point, because that sentence was your summary. You seem to suggest that Oxide is hiding some AMD-specific code from Nvidia, when NV has all they need to optimize this game within their hardware constraints, because they have access to the source code.

From what i understand his point is that AoS a lot less neutral than people here seem to think it is.
This is basically the equivalent of a nvndia gameworks title benchmarks before the game comes out where AMD is losing.

Exactly my impression as well. This has been a well-executed, pro-AMD campaign. Their first truly successful campaign since the A64 days really. Credit to maintaining the positive narrative, and muzzling Roy Taylor (to prevent further gaffes).

Assuming it's some grand well thought out genius campaign by AMD to outsmart the best and most well funded marketing machinery by Nvidia, the counter is pretty simple, STOP GIVING YOUR CUSTOMERS A REASON TO LEAVE!! At least that's how I would look at if I ever gave a darn about my customers, rather than thinking of them merely as an "install base" to be milked at will.....

Once again, AoS is NOT neutral, they are hand in hand with AMD while nvidia hanging on the back somewhere which is completely fine, if people stopped pretending that this 1 game shows the future of the next 5year.

It's fun that you can make that correlation with a program which stifles it's own performance to get a leg up with something that is a hardware scheduler using a particular method to transport and execute data and an overall advancement in technology.

They are one in the same in the sense that AMD played it's competitors game better by slowly and deliberately installing it's architecture and accommodating API into the larger user base. This will be a strategical win via its architecture with minimal damage, if any, to the industry -- not by use of brute force, it's resources or persuasion ending in a blast radius which cripples the ignitor.

Ok so I won't pretend to know how much collaboration there is between each IHV these days, but Kollock had this to say last August:

Nvidia was actually a far more active collaborator over the summer then AMD was, If you judged from email traffic and code-checkins, you'd draw the conclusion we were working closer with Nvidia rather than AMD. wink.gif As you've pointed out, there does exist a marketing agreement between Stardock (our publisher) for Ashes with AMD. But this is typical of almost every major PC game I've ever worked on (Civ 5 had a marketing agreement with NVidia, for example). Without getting into the specifics, I believe the primary goal of AMD is to promote D3D12 titles as they have also lined up a few other D3D12 games.
