[AMD] AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.2 - Page 10

My 2D RAM clock is stuck at 1300, definitely not downclocking.

Edit: due to Virtual Super Resolution. It's back down to 150 now I've disabled it.

Sadly this means I can't set resolution in games at 2K and then have the GPU down sample to my native resolution of 1680x1050.

2D vram clock also doesn't go down with multiple monitors connected for me, oh well, I can need the extra heating for now!

So that means hes wrong?

Helpdesk mentality for AMD doesn't exactly help.

Q: How many helpdesk agents does it take to change a light bulb?
A: None, we have the exact same model in the test lab here and it works just fine.

Point is i see these types of replies all the time. Perhaps your just sharing your own experience. Perhaps your insinuating he has a problem on his end and it's his fault.
Your reply lacks any help at the same time. It's like you two live on the same street but 20 houses down and his electric is out, while yours is working. In layman's terms but not exactly 100% accurate analogy.

Liranian is not exactly asking for help. He posted his experience i posted mine. not sure what i did different. maybe, i don't use ddu. not once.

i normally just install the new over the old. with crimson, though, like i did for omega was use an older driver (13 Driver) to uninstall the old. Then i installed the new driver.

Now, you are having issues with crossfire? did you disable crossfire before installing the new driver?

My memory is not downclocking either, but more annoyingly core voltage never drops and with that comes coil whine. Single monitor over DVI. Core clock downclocks fine.

I am trying to make use of the per game overclocking profiles, so its probably related to that - it is rather a frustrating feature which seems so simple on the surface yet quickly falls apart when used.

It really shouldn't be this difficult to get right. But more importantly when things like this go wrong, there should be things we can do. There are no diagnostic tools no event logs nothing of use.

So if Crimson decides not to downclock someone's memory, it likely has a very good reason to behave that way. But we aren't allowed to know what that might be, and we can't correct it without tons of guesswork.

rdr09 is not in the wrong (I know, I can't believe it. My how they grow!) biggrin.gif. He just stated his experience, nothing more. So I think you've got the wrong end of the stick here pal.

I never had problems with memory clocks using 1 screen. I think even when I had 2 screen I had no problems.
