[Anandtech] Price Check: Price Gap Between DDR3 and DDR4 Memory Almost Gone - Page 2

DDR3 had become 50% more expensive than it was some months back, its no wonder DDR4's constant price drop would end up catching up to DDR3's current price.

It's pretty cheap here in the states. You can get a 2400 16gb kit for less then $70.

Have the red version and it's pulling 2600 no problem. Still thinking about buying that CL 10 G.Skill. Though, really don't want to waste money on more ddr3 ram. That's only $89 right now. redface.gif

It sure did drop in price! Couple week ago I paid $159 for my HyperX Predator DIMMs now its down to $112. Overclocks like a beast got it up 400mhz over stock so far. Still need to tweak my CPU and GPU clocks though, forgot what a pain it is.

Atleast from my point of view, i am not sure i get the ddr4 vs ddr3 thing. Depending on what kind of kit you buy some high end ddr3 kits seem to have better latency and speed. Most of the ddr4 kits seem to have god awful timings. Any1 care to explain or am i missing something, or is the reality that these kits are not so hot.

And I am still stuck on DDR2 which is currently going 8GB for $170!
