Well I was a pro CSS player about 10 years ago but I never ever lift my mouse. Still managed to play well in tournaments biggrin.gif
I do however play with insanely high DPI + sensitivity.

So why do you ask that question, Im sure you have seen a ton of players with 400 dpi and <2 sensitivity, they lift a lot, actually Im pretty sure the majority of cs players lift their mouse to some extent.

I've seen a lot of weird stuff, I just never really understood the concept of lifting a mouse. The movement seems too slow for me, but I guess it can work for others. Weirdest thing I saw was a guy actually using a trackball mouse and owning like a madman biggrin.gif

Why hasn't anyone thought of creating a modular mouse yet?

Standard internals with exchangeable shells...

my situation is a bit complicated.
Everytime i order some mice to test them i notice which properties are important for me, just to hate those same properties on the next mouse i test.

I tested a **** ton of mice already and I'm never satisfied , sooner or later the mouse starts to annoy me and makes me play worse.

I've played MoH:AA and CoD1/2 competitively for years and years back then and I ever used only 2 mice (MX518 and Deathadder 3G).

After a long break I started playing CS:GO 2 years ago and since my Deathadder has died over the years I'm still in search for a good mouse.

So heres my history (I will just note what's the problem with the mouse):

- Deathadder 3.5g - Inferior sensor than 3G and way too high LOD.
- Deathadder Chroma - Bad grip on rubber sides and It felt bigger and more uncomfortable than the 3G, despite being the same size.
- SS Sensei RAW - Very good shape but sensor went crazy on my QCK+, not playable.
- SS Kana V2 - mushy buttons and high LOD, OK but not great shape.
- SS Rival - completely uncomfortable shape, couldn't hit anything.
- Logitech G303 - developed strong wrist pain after 1 week, good flicks but bad stability in aiming due to shape
- Logitech G402 - Loved the MX518 but hated this one.
- ASUS Rog Sica - Too small, too uncomfortable.
- Finalmouse 2015 - Good shape at first try, later turned out to make my aim worse + super bad build quality.
- Zowie EC2-A - Too small, too thin, no stability in aiming. weight distribution felt like ****.
- Zowie ZA12 - same as with EC2-A. hand cramps after 1 match.
- Zowie ZA11 - Feels like the right size but still too thin somehow, aim feels like **** with this one.
- Mionix Avior 7k - Played for months with it, until I realized its too heavy while being too flat.
- Mionix Castor - Played for months with it, thought it's fine until I realized its a bit too flat and small and tracking heads became really ****ty with this one.
- Mionix Naos 7k - Couldn't lift it due to shape, thus very bad aim-control
- Roccat Kone Pure Military - ok shape but too small, DPI inconsistency bug.

So, as you can see I've tested quite a lot of popular mice and now heres the weird stuff thats going on with me, I feel like I'm slowly becoming insane.

After trying a flat mouse like Avior 7k I feel like I need a higher mouse.
After trying a higher mouse I feel like it should be more flat.
After trying a G402 I feel like I need a lighter mouse.
After trying a Finalmouse 15 I feel like I need a heavier mouse.
After trying a ZA11 I feel like its too big and thin at the same time.
After trying a ZA12 I feel like I need a bigger mouse to get more stability in aiming.
After trying a Deathadder Chroma I feel like I need a smaller mouse for more flexiblity in aiming.
After trying a Castor I feel like I need a bigger mouse for more stability in aiming and head tracking.

And so on...

Next I'm gonna order the Dreammachine DM1 as I remember the Sensei shape being quite okay for me. But I will probably hate it anyway as I need a good functioning mousewheel ingame and the DM1 wheel is considered **** from what I read here.

It's getting depressing as hell, I don't even know anymore which properties are good for me and which aren't.

I appreciate it alot if any of you guys can help me out figuring what I really need and maybe come up with some tips.

I have the exact same findings with Castor, Avior, Deathadder, Kana, za11, za12, ec2 etc. I'm in the exact same boat as you. I have now realized the ocd and what helped me was to not worry or think about it, the more I feed and read reviews/look at new releases, the more I get confused and lose peace/confidence.

I believe indeed the key is to find something that you can perform with and sticking with it - being content with what you have. Because iotherwise it's a rollercoaster that's never going to end.

So I'm also ordering the DM1. Don't dread in advance what it will or will not be. Cause at the moment, even if you got your ideal mouse, your mindset would still make you unable to adapt.

I therefore recommend you to stick with what you have and perform the best with and try dm1. Another option is to try the g900 that's coming. It's g400sy, but ambi and not so super heavy.
What about ec1-a? You didn't list it. It's similar to DA but even better shape imo.

It is not a weird concept, EVERYONE has different motor skills, some of us dont have the fine dexterity to use high sens, others just dont like the large movements when using low sens.

There is some cs pro player spread sheet arround, some of them use 400dpi with the sensitivity arround 1, others use 800dpi with sensitivity >2, its something about each persons body and motor skills.

this is true that everyone has different motor skills and dexterity, but just playing the game improves all of these.
when I just started theres no way I was near as smooth as I am now, if you want to train your fine dexterity, play on a higher sensitivity and learn to surf good, you'd be smooth in no time biggrin.gif

Same here, I think I've tested basically every reputable gaming mouse on the market over the course of the last year and I'm still not satisfied. Next batch is gonna be the Fnatic Flick, FM Pro and Hori Edge.

If those players can be consistent with all those different mice (there are some really bad mice on the list lol) you are just ocd'ing over stuff that doesnt matter

Awesome document, a friend + teammate of mine from my Counterstrike 'past' is in there. biggrin.gif
Interesting to see all their specific settings, thanks for sharing!

I see someone is using the Steelseries Ikari Optical mouse, that used to be my favorite CS mouse!
There's even people using Logitech G100S mice or the Steelseries Kana, not my first choices biggrin.gif
