Hey folks ,

Man I am from Indian republic and summer is at the hand. After last party I messed up with my air conditioner and I dont think its gonna get repaired too soon . In the meanwhile , my fx 9590 is hitting 70 degrees while gaming.

Is there anyway to underclock my cpu to stock fx 8350 ?

Here are my full specs

Fx 9590 amd @ 4.7 Ghz

Asus Crosshair V formula - Z

Corsair H100i Liquid cooler

Corsair Vengeance 8gb DDR3 1600 Mhz

Sapphire r9 290x Tri X OC

1 TB Seagate barracuda HDD

1000 watt 80 plus Gold Circle CT PSU

Windows 10 x64 Enterprise .

All you have to do is drop the CPU multiplier down and reduce the voltage manually, for starters I'd drop it down to 20x and give it about 1.40v's and see what it does.

It should run with less volts but do see where your temps are when you do it, it really should be able to run with about 1.35v's at that speed no prob.

Cool & Quiet is OK but I disable all that and the DOCP profile as well.

You'll have to set the BIOS to "Manual" for your OC'ing to do it, once thats done you should have all the options available to you for setting it up how you want it.

Give that a shot and see what pops up, then make your setting adjustments.

Just for the record, Turbo Mode uses 1.404v in my FX-8350. But this is for light thread 4.2 Ghz on max two/tree cores.

When stock mode, not using Turbo Mode, the CPU stay at 4.1 Ghz.

Thats so hot 70C gaming on watercooling, and stress test means it will shut down to prevent over heat 100+C

Needs super tight clamping on that water block and lots of radiator.

Many thanks everyone of you .

By the way , I just set multiplier to 20x and volt to 1.40 . And it runs great. By the way I didnt change DOCP profile and now My fx9590 runs @ 4.0Ghz

Have I done it correctly ?

Thanks again

You can turn off DOCP and run the under-clock with manual settings. But if it runs fine either way, should be no problem.

Save your moneys up and purchase a custom water loop. You want no less than 120.6 radiator (2x 120.3 rads).
