GTA5 causing issues with my setup?

Thread Starter
So I started playing GTA Online again the other day and I have been having some odd issues with my ingame performance and I was wondering if I could some input. It seems my rig isn't using all the power I have on the game.

My CPU sits at 50-70% usage in game@ about ~50-55*
My GPU Sits at 50-60% usage in game @about ~70*
Ram is about 6 out of 8 GB used

My fps varies but mainly stays 80-100 most of the time.

Is the game just optimized or is there another reason my rig would be throttling down usage?

You are rocking a 980 Ti at what looks to be 1080p based on the monitors in your signature. That resolution won't stress a 980 Ti enough. A 980 Ti could play GTA V at pretty much max settings for 1440p. Hell, even when I had one GTX 780, I could play GTA V on pretty respectable settings at 1440p. Unless you configure those monitors for surround and game at 5760x1080, that 980 Ti is not going to be pushed very hard.

My thing is, shouldn't I be getting more fps then? I've always understood it as something has to be trying it's hardest to run something and that item is what limits your fps.

What do your GPU clocks look like while you are gaming? It's possible that because it's only being pushed 60% it isn't running at it's full clock speed... If you use precision X or Afterburner, you can set it to always be at max voltage/speed. Also, what is your 6700k running at clock speed wise?

Currently I am at 1278MHz while playing and by CPU sits at 4.2 GHz, both being stock speeds.

Well, the gpu is definitely clocking up... That kind of throws a wrench in my theory. Normally in my experience those low utilization numbers come when the hardware isn't being pushed hard enough. Several situations put the utilization right at the threshold where the gpu wouldn't "boost" to it's non-power saving voltage/speeds, thus lowering fps. Maybe someone that has messed with the in game settings in depth could chime in and give you some pointers in that area?

I appreciate you trying to help, I am kinda getting some micro stutters now so I will try reinstalling the driver when I get home. Then I will try reinstalling the game just to make sure. I plan on buying a second 980 Ti on Wednesday but I am going to disappointed if it doesn't boost my performance due to some odd issue.
