It's a personal choice - a lot of people do put a lot of hours into the games where it's not a choice and you just get both, even with a below-flagship card. It's no coincidence that most of the most popular games in terms of population and played hours are fairly easy to run.

I prefer IQ over speed too to a degree but the barrier is further to the speed side for me

I Actually had the 970 before I got my swift, for cs and bf4 that run on 144 and im sure pascal titan will make many more games run at 144, plus playng all the older games at 144 is way better ecperience then lagging at 60.
