Ever since I've installed windows 10 my computer hard restarts randomly. It seems the equivalent of me pressing that reset button on the front of the case. Although the PC stays off for about 5 seconds than turns back on. I've enoucnted when playing WoW though that's what I spend most of my time on so it could be just a coincidence, not sure. Watt meter shows about 380ish watts from the wall when playing, with monitor. Never had this issue before with this PC.

I see a lot of this around windows 10 but my itch points to hard ware? I have no idea honestly how the OS could just do a random force restart like this and it be so often.

If you need anymore information please let me know! (The BSOD thing didn't complete after an hour so could not attach that unfortunately) Event viewer just shows an unpredictable shutdown.

Thanks!

I had the exact problem with mine the last few days. My external USB 3.0 drive was plugged in to a front port. When I removed it and used only onboard usb 3.0 ports. All the reboots stopped. It never had the problem until a few days ago. Wonder if a win 10 update messed up the drivers or something.

Interesting... I'm only using rear ports. I'll swap everything to USB2.0 and see if that settles it. It's pretty rare (these shutdowns) anyway, but hopefully that fixes it. Man Windows 10 is really worse than I thought! frown.gif
