IPS glow is getting worse, making games almost unplayable

Thread Starter
I have noticed this problem getting worse and worse. I can't even play games like Amnesia because I literally cannot even see the game. This monitor is an LG 29EA73-P 29" ultrawide.

I really want to sell this monitor and upgrade to a TN display. Yes, you heard that right. I'd rather deal with a little backlight bleed than a giant blotch of white on the corners.

This image is taken from sitting distance from the monitor. I have to sit almost 5 feet from the monitor for the IPs glow to go away. It makes playing dark games unbearable.

I'm not familiar with that monitor, but I have been an IPS owner for over 10 years. I just traded an Asus ProArt 24" for an Acer 35" Ultrawide AMVA screen, with lower resolution (2560x1080 vs 1920x1200). I am very happy with my new monitor, the colors are clear and crisp, and the contrast is amazing. Really do not miss the extra resolution at all. I believe your IPS glow issues are a bit over the norm, however you might enjoy a UMVA screen instead of a TN.

I have the LG uc87c and I have the same issues in the corners of mine but not to your degree. It is super annoying trying to play any game that is dark. I rarely notice it now but I do see it.
