The hate is well justified though as it should be with a monopoly as MS has even going so far lately as to tell motherboard manufacturers to stop OC'ing software on skylake (I think it was anyhow )

Still the tech seems cool it's still with the bloody headgear frown.gif that and when I watch that I think .. "Will this mean even lazier development because they don't have to make backgrounds but they'll spin it to make it sounds like it'll be worth £100 a game?" Much in the same way that lack of Singleplayer in Multiplayer games ( Cod / SW:Battlefront ) hasn't made multiplayer any better or 'richer' at all for the same price.
IMHO It'll be like most other MS stuff lately, small market share, expensive and riddled with Ad's

Another "Wait and see" tech

Buddy, that was Intel. rolleyes.gif/QUOTE]

That was awesome lol I couldn't stop laughing. But I got what be meant

It reminds me of 3D, neat idea but will never amount to anything for most people. The only industry that it would probably do well in (as in mass adoption) is the porn industry.

I am a fan of what this tech could eventually mean. Not a fan at all of that tiny tiny square of Augmented reality. That tiny little viewport is an auto deal breaker for me no matter what the final price tag is. Even in that small demo there were times you lose sight of conker to the tiny square.

For me it'll have to at least field of view otherwise the experience won't be worth it

Microsoft ruining everything since forever.

Looks like a lot of people are disliking this.

For me looks like they are targeting a young demographic.

I got a Gear VR and so far not too impressed with anything else so far either.

I got my notification of being in the Hololens Developer Program yesterday. I'll reserve judgement until I get my grubby hands on it. Then I'll do an OCN review instead of basing my opinion on a YT video...

I want to know the tech side, and aim to separate facts from fiction. I want this to work in a bad way.

I'm sure some of the girls on lj would put up a green or blue background for a fee. wink.gif
That and it is a shame of how much your visible depth span goes down in 3d when gaming. Better than dof because of freedom, but I turn the 3d up for more of an effect and my depth span goes down even more. I've been spoiled by 2d's fakeness. Games lose playability with 3d. But I will play FO4 3d when I burn through some of my steam backlog.

3D and Augmented reality aren't really comparable.

From reading comments from those who have actually demoed a HoloLense, they liken it to a small Star Trek HoloDeck. It really does go beyond what 3D could ever be capable of, and brings an entirely new world to your world.

There are MASSIVE implications for HoloLense tech, everything from architecture design, graphic design, medical, gaming, porn, the list goes on and on.
