[YouTube] Microsoft HoloLens: Young Conker - Page 3

Does Microsoft have no idea what Conker is?
Conker is the Deadpool of videogames, and now they're trying to make a "G" rated version to use as the mascot for the most expensive tech they have to offer?

The reason we have so much fanfare for the current Deadpool is because until now Hollywood was scared of the source material and tried to use the character in places it didn't belong.
Now we have the same problem with Conker as we had with Deadpool in Wolverine Origins.
Microsoft is destroying this "well beloved character" and simultaneously mass marketing something that will be horrifying to the masses as soon as they find out what they're looking at.

From reading comments from those who have actually demoed a HoloLense, they liken it to a small Star Trek HoloDeck. It really does go beyond what 3D could ever be capable of, and brings an entirely new world to your world.

There are MASSIVE implications for HoloLense tech, everything from architecture design, graphic design, medical, gaming, porn, the list goes on and on.

I dont see porn embracing this tech as much as they will vr unless I'm missing some obvious benefit. one should be able to transport you there and with integration into an ever expanding world of high tech toys really start to blur the lines whereas this, again unless I'm missing something, would be more akin to traditional porn just in a tiny square in front of you.

just trying to think of the application beyond that and I'm not seeing how it will be much more for that particular industry

edit. not to debate one vs the other just that particular line stuck with me when trying to think how the porn industry would do anything really with hololens tech(at least this iteration)

RIP Conker

EDIT: Really goes to show just how of touch Microsoft is with gaming.

Imagine watching porn in VR, and "being" there. Now imagine watching porn with the HoloLense, and interacting with it. Being able to "undress" your partner, things of that nature. VR lets to sit in the room, so to speak, but Augmented Reality (AR) gives you the ability to interact with it.

Make no mistake though, VR and AR will eventually merge into one product/device I am sure. Just right now as it stands, there are things AR can do that VR simply can't.

This is it. It's time to riot in the streets.

Privacy? Fine, have it. Hand it over to the government. Use it for intelligent propaganda and interrupting the free political process.

Conker? You have gone too far.

Still apart from the first point, is it just me or does it look like we've taken a step back to Lawnmower man-era CGI? smile.gif

My Thoughts exactly.

I feel they pushing way to much emphasis on gaming and entertainment, this has way more potential in design and engineering, yet they haven't shown feature like that.
I want to see someone building a 3D model and how they would manipulate and maneuver the object.

It is technically impressive that this is aware of objects and it interacts with them, I just feel gaming isn't where to real potential lies.
