Would sector size matter?Same answer
Would the formatting of the original SSD and the HDD to which it's cloned to matter? Does it matter if original disk is GPT and HDD is MBR?Sector size id pretty much the only thing that you can change in a reformat. As for it having an effect on cloning, I don't know, never cloned from one to the other.
If you switch from MBR to GPT or vice versa on a boot drive the drive will not be bootable.
Some cloning programs are extremely complex with tons of options, other are one or two clicks and you're done. It would be best to read reviews and try a few. Personally, I like Partition Magic's tool the best. It does what I need to do easily. I've used Clonezilla and Acronis too.Edited by billbartuska - 3/1/16 at 7:04am
