Moving to a 390X would be a sidegrade at best from your current 970 and a waste of effort and $$. Get a Fury if you want to get a Freesync monitor or wait a few more months and get the cards from the next launch.

I'm thinking Fury or 390X as I want something now. I already have the monitor and the PC is built just waiting for a graphics card.

Looks good, but I don't need a smaller card and that card is more expensive than the Fury. I am pretty sure I am going to go with the SAPPHIRE NITRO Radeon R9 FURY
