Sad that DP 1.4 is released and we still havent seen a single monitor or GPU use DP 1.3 yet. Connectivity upgrades dont usually take a year and a half from release to become available...

We did, and maybe you just dont understand what you are saying. VESA has specified a variable refresh rate. The standard is there, it is available, and nvidia has tested beta support for it. The entire basis of AMD's Freesync is using VESA adaptivesync spec.
