Microsoft and Iron Galaxy have announced a release date for Killer Instinct Season 3.

Quote:
Season 3 will launch with four characters – Rash, Kim Wu, Arbiter, and Tusk with additional characters rolling out as the season progresses. Eight fighters in total will be included with Season 3, featuring both new, classic, and guest characters

Everything players already own through Killer Instinct and Killer Instinct Season 2 will carry over into Season 3 along Achievements in both versions. An FAQ for the Windows 10 version is through here.

Looking forward to this on March 29th! biggrin.gif

will this be poorly optimized for PC's?

We don't really have a reason to think that, the minimum system requirements are relatively low.

Iron Galaxy took over the development of Killer Instinct from Double Helix and they've done a pretty good job of it so far. Since Microsoft are pushing heavily for this game to come to PC with cross-platform play with the Xbox One I believe they will take the quality of the game on PC very seriously.

If it comes via DX12 and Windows Store, probably! Given the recent revelations of how they are screwing gamers over.

Disclaimer: The above referenced issues might be fixed, but until that time....

Viva La Vulkan!!!!

Well look at the state of Gears, the whole DX12 situation, and the fact that Iron Galaxy handled the Arkham Knight PC port.. Lets just say i won't get my hopes up. lachen.gif

Not getting it anyway because i won't touch the Windows store with a ten foot pole at this point..

Being that it is a fighting game there's no problem with it having a 60fps cap (since all fighting games do, for obvious reasons) but there will be a huge problem if it is a stuttery mess, since that would drastically effect gameplay.

Is Killer Instinct even still played seriously in the FGC? I'm outta touch since I don't go to tournaments or really even play FGs much anymore but I thought the game died rather quickly, especially now with everyone playing SF V. Anyone with an Xbone, is there still much of a player base?

Probably, there's pretty much no other Fighting Games on the Xbox One other than BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma Extend, Mortal Kombat X, Dead or Alive 5 and UFC.
