They are always in beta stage. Especially their bioses biggrin.gif. Their new mobos for Ryzen is a joke. And their products with 1021 revisons thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

I installed Call of Duty 4 for test. Guess what. Distortion occurs every 2-3 days. Have to disable/enable audio via device manager to fix distortion. This is hardware problem from 5 years with this creative chip and gigabyte keep use it for their boards.

Just posting a follow up. I had the issue happen again after a very long time without it (about 6 months)

I first encountered the issue when I built my PC last summer around this time. I started that first month of the dreaded "blaring distorted sound" by rebooting each time to fix it.

Eventually I found that turning off the audio enhancements and CrystalVoice seemed to prevent the issue from happening.

After various UEFI updates I would go in and turn the audio enhancements and CrystalVoice back on to see if I could use those features without the distorted audio issues, but the bad audio would always come back within the first few gaming sessions. I would turn the enhancements back off in the softwar, reboot, and continue as usual.

Yesterday I was playing with my Mic and trying to get better sound. I tried using Crystalvoice and IMMEDIATELY got the distorted audio issue again.

I know I sound like a broken record here, but the issue has to have something to do with those features. Without them I have zero problems.

So after searching for a LONG time for a fix for the distortion I found that turning everything that has the word crystal in it and leaving it off will prevent the issue, even though this is an old topic I thought I would at least post this to help anyone still looking out there. But to be specific, go into Sound Blaster and turn OFF SBX Pro Studio, CrystalVoice. Those being off should prevent the distortion. Don't forget to save it as well.thumb.gif
