Hello.
I had a Philips 226V4LAB 21.5 inch TN panel Monitor.
I bought a new one BenQ EW2440L with flicker free but after some minutes of browsing my eyes hurts. I think it's because white color.
I use standard mode with 55 Brightness and 50 Contrast and i don't know my eyes hurts.. Before this monitor i don't have any problem with my eyes. redface.gif

Some monitors may have brightness too high even at 55. Try lowering it further to 50 or 45, then go to windows control panel > color management > advanced > display calibration and tilt the color balance very slightly away from blue to red.
