Steam reviews are so negative.

And all the negativity is because of technical issue.

Such a shame really.

I've seen better looking games come out years ago.
Looks pretty good. Uses a lot of voxels instead of polygons. Has its pros and cons. I suggest you lower settings. Your graphics card is old.

It's not even just technical issues. The gfx are horrible. The controls are meh (which can be fixed). The reloading? The dumbest thing I've ever seen in a game. Mining laser uses the same ammo as your gun. Thus, in the middle of a battle, you have to open your inventory, click on the multi tool option, click your gun which brings up items you can use to reload it, hold the left click then close the screen. None of which pauses the game. So I almost died because I had to spend the time I did reloading. This can easily be fixed in a patch however.

So far though, I'm not seeing what was 60 dollars about this. I'd easily pay 10 or maybe even 20 for this just to consume time but overall, I had more fun with Terraria and I paid 5 bucks for that. I can't see dropping the 200 hours in this that I have in other games of this sort.

You guys want an awesome survival game? Go play The Long Dark. There's nothing survival about this either. It's like walking into a garbage dump of materials so ammo, health, shield, life support is always only a couple steps away from you.

One of the things I noticed someone say on twitch yesterday was fuel was just filler with no real purpose cause if you run out you just shoot astroids and get fuel which was too easy.

It really goes with every resource. You can stand in 1 spot and get pretty much most of your common resources without moving mouch.

It's getting absolutely ripped apart lol. The amount of performance issues here is staggering since they kept delaying the game. Did they not play it on their own systems?

How big is initial install? I only got 2.5Gb then had to leave for work at 4:30am. Still hopeful. I mean coe on guys, one of the mos ambitious games by a tiny dev team, i think after a few patches it will get better.

Piss poor release like this is no excuse because you're a small dev is no excuse. Just because it's becoming more of a common occurrence due to sheer stupidity doesn't absolve them of it. It's getting it's due justice, just like Arkham Knight did. The only way to get developers to stop this crap is hit them where it hurts.

I agree with this but it is still only day one. Not like how I downloaded fallout 4 last weekend and realized I needed to edit the ini file change to read only and mod the game just to get it to run without my eyes hurting because I have an amd card. I'm curious if all no mans sky needs is an edited ini file. I know from just starting to mod skyrim if you don't edit the reserved memory the game crashes.

SUCCESS!!!

Installed it at home (SRT sig rig) and it worked on the first try! Had to adjust the graphic settings and such which required a reboot which then put me on a whole different planet when I came back.... ugh. But...turns out the planet I am on now is pretty neat. Played for an hour with my friend doing the same. The whole time we're constantly like, "woah! What's that!?!? Oh cool. WahT!? Okay... **** WHAT IS THAT?!?!?! AAGGHHHH!!!" and so on. tongue.gif

Got my gear to go to space but spent more time on my planet finding stuff.

Only "issue" so far is some clunky controls/interface. Just gotta learn it, I guess. That and even with my powerful rig, it stutters sometimes and doesn't feel like a smooth 60fps (even though I changed it to go to 60fps) but other than that.. just some pop-in related graphical things but that's ok.

Dude...this game is awesome so far. smile.gif

Fixed that for ya tongue.gif

Then again my memory from the release of Morrowind is a bit fuzzy, I don't remember ever having any issues with vanilla and played it for like 30 hours before I went and looked if there were any patches.
