Is Nvidia 3D Vision dead?

Thread Starter
I was interested in this "old" feature for my next PC, however it looks like there's no 3D Vision monitors out there anymore. Besides having a great community with lots of fixes for newest games, I haven't seen a single 3D Vision release since the first Swift PG278Q.

At first I thought any 144hz Gsync monitor could do 3D Vision, but apparently this is not the case. There are some people arguing about this over the internet, but I can't find a clear answer. Apparently there's also some kind of EDID hacking to make non 3D Vision monitors run the feature, but I really can't find much about it.

Do you know anything about this? Please share and discuss your thoughts.

the Dell S2716DG I just bought is Nvidia 3d compatible, just not advertised as such. a few of the g-Sync monitors are 3d compatible. but you're right, it is kind of dead now.
