Is a 1070 gpu powerful enough to push games at this res? I found a refurbished x34 near me in Canada and am very tempted to pull the trigger.

For added info. I'm using a 6700k @ 4.7ghz and 16gb ddr4 ram.

Some games that I would be playing are witcher 3, F1 2016 & possibly battlefield 1.

edit: can anyone tell me what input response is like on this monitor? I have experience with a 144hz 1080p tn monitor and a qnix 1440p. would I be correct in assuming the input lag would be somewhere between the 2?

Yeah you will have no issues with the resolution. As for input lag, TFTCentral got 9.20 ms vs a CRT so it should be negligible. See their full review.
