When I started playing Overwatch, after the awe of how polished and graphically pleasing the game wore off, I realized how this was actually a vanilla version of Team Fortress 2. It's one of those games where I can actually play regardless of what mouse I use. Hell, I think I'm going to use one of my dusty Anker mice to play on it and I'll probably fair well. It's not exactly a game that requires a 3310 or 3366 sensor for precision thumb.gif

Well, a lot depends on the character.

If you're talking about WidowMaker or Soldier 74, I get ya, but even for a sniper class, I hate to say it but the gameplay is very "casual" oriented. I am by no means anywhere near MLG Pro or Be All End All of gamers, but I've played enough video games where Overwatch seems fun enough that even my 12 year old cousin can play (and earn top score and POTG) - and he doesn't even know what he's doing! He sees an enemy and fires in a general direction and somehow, he gets the magical "Enemy Eliminated" pop up tongue.gif

Play against arranged teams when ranked comes out, trust me there's plenty high skill requirements at the top end.

If Blizzard wants this game (Overwatch) to enter the "competitive" niche - they'll have to do better than offer 20 tickrate servers (in 2016 of all things). When you have old games like CS:GO and Quake Live where 64-128 tickrate servers are out there, I just don't understand why 20 tickrate "is good enough".

60 send rate (aka high bandwidth mode)was available for custom games and worked ok in closed beta and tournaments, it somehow got bugged between open beta and release I believe.

They already fixed that, it's in custom games now and will come out for competitive servers most likely after competitive comes out; quickplay will remain at 20

The game is 'ok' in competitive standpoint but it's got a lot of balance issues which mainly revolve around poor map design, game mode timing problems, and snowballing

I mean you basically have one choke to enter most spots and it's so easy to zone people out of them, it's just bad mapping

Respectfully disagree, there are some balance issues which have been addressed, map design is ok for the most part if you have good comps and high mobility champs.

The real issue is agreeing on a competitive format, third parties are coming up with their own rules but blizzard haven't come up with a good one yet, we'll see when competitive releases again however.

i think it's ok for what it is, which is a first person moba.
and the entire "shooter" aspect is what you could expect from a moba.
60tick will improve things, but there's still the hitboxes, certain ults.. well, just the overall mechanics i guess.
the only thing that makes this have a connection with the FPS genre at all is the fact that having good aim is rewarding for some classes.

at this point it's 50/50 as to where things will be going. i think it has potential to be a good game, but it'll need to see some good improvement to get there.
i'm curious to Quake Champions too, although i probably won't play it myself (i'm bad)

edit: did this ever get fixed?

in wireless mode, the timing of the sensor reads (and probably timing of wireless transmissions as well) is not in sync with the usb polling

Anyone have this problem, I plug it in to charge it, when I unplug it the buttons don't work... I have to plug it in again to get it to work. It's happened a few times now, I might RMA it, for what this cost this is unacceptable.

I'm an idiot.
