Give the Lost planet Demo a go on Steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/6510/

To understand Lost planet 3 you have to have played at least the 1st one. Can kinda ignore the 2nd one though lol.

Great list so far. I'm not sure if it's been suggested yet, but I've been having a lot of fun playing 'The Forest' on Steam which is still in alpha or "early access". It's a horror survival game with very little back story so far. You crash-land on this island and you have to survive grotesque "monsters" and cannibals while searching for a lost family member. I'm not sure there is any end game yet, but the crafting system is pretty good and keeps me interested in finding new loot. The graphics are stunning for a 3-man dev team (I think). Right now it's only $14.99! thumb.gif

^^ I've got that game too (The Forest) it's a much better game when played in CO-OP. I do love the crafting system, you place a blueprint (looks like a holograph of what you're building) and you literarly see how many logs, stones etc you need to build it. When you place them you see the item being built an item at a time. I feel it gives you a feeling of acomplisment rather than gathering materials and then just placing an already built item.

The 'Wildlife/savages' are semi aggressive, and i have noticed that when in Co-op if there is 2 of you and they are alone or only have 2, they wont attack unless you seperate or they run off and come back with a couple more. Very clever i think.

Yeah, the devs did a great job of AI (in some cases) and physics, especially lighting. And I cannot tell you how much better fort building is in this game over FO4. I know it's a bad comparison because FO4's limitations are a bit silly, but the hologram you speak of really does help with layout and seeing how much more resources you need for walls. So far I give it a 7.5/10 for an alpha. I'll be looking forward for future updates. Def worth the $15 price tag.

great thread idea! also loving the fun title.

I would put my recommendation on Mark of the Ninja as well, in my opinion the best 2D stealth game made. very fluent to play as well, developer did a great job programming it.
the learning curve is nice and smooth, the art is amazing and the story is very strong. DLC is fun but not necessary. Bought it to support the dev.

Forest looks cool. I added it under the Horror section with 2 recommendations and added it into my wishlist. Looking for a sale like always. However it sucks that developers are not saying when the full game is out. Usually it says it on the store page but not this time.

Added your votes for Mark of the Ninja. ıt is a very very good game and if anybody is into platformer type of 2D stealth games, they need to check that game out for sure thumb.gif

I harbor an extreme distrust of anything labeling itself as "early access".
I understand some people like it, but I personally won't touch early access or pre-orders with a 10 foot pole.

On topic, my daily recommendation: Dreamfall: The Longest Journey.
Loved this game, it's an absolute classic and one of those select few games that left an impression from when I played it as a youngster thumb.gif

What's the difference between what you posted and The Longest Journey?

Not to be nit-picky, bruh, but the title of the game is actually 'The Forest'. Might want to update the name to avoid confusion? Just a suggestion. redface.gif
