Ori And The Blind Forest is available on PC (Steam/GOG) and Xbox One. It is like 15$ or something for the newly released definitive Edition.

The game has an amazingly beautiful art style and plays really well with every controller. I haven't tested the Keyboard controls since I play all 2D metroidvania like games with Controller.

If you like Super Metroid or Castlevania you are going to love Ori And The Blind Forest. The game is beautifully designed, well paced and is incredibly beautiful. Actually I would recommend this game to everyone, because Ori And The Blind Forest is objectively one of the best indie games ever made.
I thought this thread was about older games that may have went under in the last years.

Disregarding that I must agree with you. I have never been so stunned and emotionally bonded to a game as with Ori. IMO one of the most beautifully crafted games ever. You really feel the love the game artists have put into this game being made. thumb.gif

I read OP again and can't find anything prohibiting newer games.

The thread creator even named a 2015 game himself. thumb.gif

Ziggurat also comes to mind as another classic first person spell-shooter. This game literally has endless replayability, challenging enemies which require you to move around ( UT 2004 style ) as you take them out, and the soundtrack is top notch. Also, there's alot of great spells to be cast, some of which work great when combined with a secondary spell or perk card.

I must suggest Thief Gold. Thief introduced me to the stealth first-person genre and I have loved it since I first played it as a teenager. And I would have to suggest it's sequel, Thief II: The Metal Age. Both games show their age in terms of graphics, but I believe one can easily be immersed in Garrett's world.

There might be people out there who were too young to play Morrowind but loves Skyrim and wants to give it a shot. You never know smile.gif

I SOOO agree with you. I never finished the game. I better go out there and play it again. It was fantastic nevertheless. I strongly recommend everybody to play it.

Oh hell yes brother hell yes. I still play Ziggurat a lot. Once a day though and try the daily challanges. The game always suprises me. I go to rooms and feel like "Ok this time I am going to finish the game" but than all of a sudden in a next room with full health I might get killed. It is a game that is worthy of recommendation.

I am glad you are still playing it. It is one of my most played games in the last year.

+1 for both titles. I cant really recommend the current Thief game. Although it is not bad, as a person who played the original Thief games back in the day, I just cant.

Original Thief games were amazing. The satisfaction I would get from the stealth missons were quite amazing. I could never get the same feeling again.

It was stealth at its best.

I actually wish they would remaster those Thief games with some modern graphics instead of the Thief game they came out few years ago. Again it was not a bad game but nothing close to the original thief games.

All recommendations are updated. Keep it up guys. I am sure people are getting to know some new games weather they are from 1995 or 2015...

Currently Ori and the Blind Forest is the most recommended game with 3 recommendations tongue.gif

I haven't played the newest Thief yet. I don't know if I will. When I realized Stephen Russell wasn't doing the voice for Garrett, I was really disappointed. It sounds silly that I haven't played because of that reason, but he's Garrett through and through.

Deadly Shadows was great too, but just doesn't compare to the original 2. And T2X: Shadows of the Metal Age was pretty good for an unofficial expansion.

The Talos Principle

Released in late 2014. If you like the Portal games, you will love this game. So many of my friends I talk to say they have never heard of it, and after they play it couldn't believe they never heard and played it sooner.

The game looks great, and has great ambiance and music and fantastic puzzles. This game IMO deserves way more recognition then it has had, and is one of my favorite games I played this decade.
