+1. I've spent easily hundreds of hours in TCS trying to hit 100% completion. As can be expected from Lego games, it's not a hard game by any means, but it's great if you just want to relax and have some fun.

I'm more of person that play games for gameplay and art direction plus story line. Realistic graphics are actually a bit of a turn off for me as they look bland. Enjoy graphics with a bit more flare or unique art style (reason I actually like how games like Okami, Wind Waker, and Dishonored look).

That's funny, I loved Dark Messiah, but avoided it's spiritual successor, Dishonored, because I hate it's art style. biggrin.gif

It's true that story was not Crytek's forte, but I felt that there was more than enough to make up for that in Crysis. Including, in my opinion, excellent sandbox gameplay!

At worst that second half of Crysis is still only equal to C2/C3. The thing is, the first half of the game is good enough to make it one of the finest games ever, regardless of what happened later on. It's a pity they didn't maintain the same standard all the way through the game (Far Cry was the same), but the strength of the first half was enough to offset any failings in the second half. As I've said many times, I got more replay value out of the Crysis demo than I got out of Crysis 3 in it's entirety.

Never played Dark Messiah, so no clue what it looks like. I only got into the new PC gaming around Skyrim, Minecraft, etc. Last time I touched PC before that times was on a Windows 3.1 playing DOS games. tongue.gif Xargon being one of my favs. Otherwise I gamed on consoles like the Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox (played Mirrowwind on that, first time I played a Elder Scroll game), N64, and Gamecube. I'm the type who goes for fun games and could care less what the heck they are on.

Probably going back to console gaming since GPUs are getting crazy on the prices. Since gaming on PC has always been a side benefit to me since it not top spot on my list when building.

But everyone has their taste for art style. Being hobby artist in painting and drawing I tend to like art styles with a heavier stylize approach. Though, I have a bad habit of collecting art books on video games and movies. Guild Wars 2 has some down right beautiful concept art especially the environments.

Poly Bridge is a pretty fun indie game, brings me back to the days of the incredible machine for some reason.

I appologize for not updating the list. I should do it tonight guys. I will also recommend a very cool game tonight.

If you guys see the game Darkest of Days on sale, I would recommend picking it up for a playthrough. It's kind of old, and not too replayable, so I would recommend waiting for a sale though.

It revolves around time travel trying to fix some time lines, so you get a good variety of weapons. Actually playing in an american civil war battle where both sides are standing on opposite sides of a ditch, and just shooting, then taking the time to reload, and shooting again... really drives home why the casualty rate was so insanely high for both sides.

The really awesome bits come in when you fight with the crappy civil war weapons for a bit... then you get told the battle didn't turn out how it should, and send you back with some fully automatic modern day (or even futuristic) weapons to push the balance back the way it's supposed to go.

C-Dogs, one of the first freeware, top down action game that had local 2 player co-op or 4 player local PC.
Lords of Magic Think Heroes of Might & Magic 3, but real time battles.
Warcraft 3 The godfather of TDs, hero defense, tag and Dota 2.
Battle Realms Came out 1 year before warcraft 3, paper rock sissors type balance with basic resources such as water & rice.
Liero Worms Ammardeddon on steriods or more correctly real time no turn based B/S.
Lords of the Realms II Early Castle sim, almost to the tune of those early SNES kingdom/domination stratedy game, turn based bur real time combat like Lords of Magic.
Caesar III One of the best city sim to date, imo beating out civilization, simcity & anno series.
Alpha Centauri One of the most indepth and balanced Civilization series. If it's the only civ game you play, play this one.
Seven Kingdoms II Basically Age of empires on steriods. One of those wierd games ahead of it's time.
Dungeon Defenders From Halo guns to TF2 pets, indepth hero survival/base defense game.
DX Ball 2 One of the best and smoothest breaknoid game that was freeware.
Mugen One of the best fighting game that will never be done. From a copyright standpoint. Play SSJ Raditz to kung fu man to Evil Ryu to Godzilla EX.
ADOM One of the more all encompassing roguelight ASCII back in the early 90s. From hunger system to crafting to alignment and corruption as well as tactics and hack and slash. Makes Sunless Sea & Don't Starve a kid's game.
The Settlers IV Probably the only city sim that requires you to make shovels and pitchforks, bows and arrows as well as different foodstuff for expansion. Think cartoon version of Stronghold.
Age of EMpires I & II Some people started with starcraft 1, some started with Age of Empires. Age of Empires came out a year first so this was the game for me. But to me Starcraft was just orcs & humans in space.
Heroes of Might and Magic III Probably the most cinematic and artistic version. Sure IV and V was great but they could never surpass this the "apotheosis" of Heroes of Might & Magic series.
Company of Heroes Another alternative resource game using capture points. Salvaged and experienced units hit harder and have more abilities.

There are more games I wouldn't mention as they are already mentioned such as Skyrim, Oblivion, Lineage II, Neverwinter Nights, Battlefield 3, Call of Dute Modern Warfare 2 etc...
