Let me start by recommending Razenroth. Not a masterpiece but it is a roguelike top down game similar to Binding of Isaac. I know there are lots of people loving Binding of Isaac and if you are looking for something different, give Razenroth a shot on Steam.

I'll start off with recommending the SOCOM mod for Insurgency.

Insurgency is fairly cheap, it was once a 4 pack for ~$25 so I'm sure many of you own it and don't play it or can acquire the game for almost nothing. If you like 3rd person tactical shooters or played SOCOM for playstation, this mod is awesome.

Not sure how active it is atm but a few months ago there was a twitch channel and a league with commentators.

Can't go wrong with Ball in a cup.

Man I have Insurgency but could never get into it. Maybe it is because I am used to faster FPS games such as BF4, COD and stuff like that. Insurgency was surely more tactical but I always had my rear handed to me every match. I should reinstall that game for sure. Will also look into that mod. SOCOM for PS2 was great. PS3 was ok.

I think it is also extremely idiotic hence why I put it there

I hate that word too and also find it funny. If enough protest I will surely change it

The gameplay in the SOCOM mod is much more enjoyable. Hitscan shooting, third person, tap-focused gun play, etc. I never could get into Insurgency itself, but the mod is wonderful

I don't know most of those PC games but I remember Pharoah very well. I also recommend it for those people who does not mind playing older games. I had a blast with that game back in the day. However that is all I remember about the game to be honest.

Definately play Dungeon Siege 3 for sure. I know I'm always spouting the good word about Dungeon Siege 3 on here, and with good reason: It's perfectly playable with Keyboard / Mouse combo, you just have to do a bit of rebinding first. The story is well worth playing through as well, its not the most interesting story out there, and decisions you make can fall flat at times, but it's still a very well told story, with plenty of exploration and gear customization along the way.

If anyone is considering picking up this game, I highly recomend doing so, just AVOID using a xbox360 controller. Stick to a keyboard / mouse. If you have any problems with finding a keybinding setup that works for you, send me a pm on here and I will be more than happy to share my keybindings with you.

Kudos to Dungeoun Siege 3... I think it is an underrated game. I remember myself playing it with a controller though and it was still fun. I don't think it is a masterpiece in it's genre but it is well worth at least a single playthrough. Story was pretty good as well.

I don't know if this counts as it's pretty much a defunct online game at this point but back in the day it was amazing.

"Infantry Online" was made by Harmless games than SOE (sony online) took it over. There is still "Free Infantry" today but it's less than a shadow of it's former self. Either way, spent wayyy too many hours on that game back in my youth. Release in 1999.

Argh, reinstalling it again to satisfy my nostalgia.

Morrowind is another but I think it's too well know for this list to be honest.

Ori And The Blind Forest

In my opion the fourth best game of 2015 after the AAA blockbuster The Witcher 3, Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain and Bloodborne.

Ori And The Blind Forest is available on PC (Steam/GOG) and Xbox One. It is like 15$ or something for the newly released definitive Edition.

The game has an amazingly beautiful art style and plays really well with every controller. I haven't tested the Keyboard controls since I play all 2D metroidvania like games with Controller.

Screenshots :

If you like Super Metroid or Castlevania you are going to love Ori And The Blind Forest. The game is beautifully designed, well paced and is incredibly beautiful. Actually I would recommend this game to everyone, because Ori And The Blind Forest is objectively one of the best indie games ever made.

I thought this thread was about older games that may have went under in the last years.

Disregarding that I must agree with you. I have never been so stunned and emotionally bonded to a game as with Ori. IMO one of the most beautifully crafted games ever. You really feel the love the game artists have put into this game being made.

Ziggurat also comes to mind as another classic first person spell-shooter. This game literally has endless replayability, challenging enemies which require you to move around ( UT 2004 style ) as you take them out, and the soundtrack is top notch. Also, there's alot of great spells to be cast, some of which work great when combined with a secondary spell or perk card.

I must suggest Thief Gold. Thief introduced me to the stealth first-person genre and I have loved it since I first played it as a teenager. And I would have to suggest it's sequel, Thief II: The Metal Age. Both games show their age in terms of graphics, but I believe one can easily be immersed in Garrett's world.

I SOOO agree with you. I never finished the game. I better go out there and play it again. It was fantastic nevertheless. I strongly recommend everybody to play it.

Oh hell yes brother hell yes. I still play Ziggurat a lot. Once a day though and try the daily challanges. The game always suprises me. I go to rooms and feel like "Ok this time I am going to finish the game" but than all of a sudden in a next room with full health I might get killed. It is a game that is worthy of recommendation.

I am glad you are still playing it. It is one of my most played games in the last year.
