A great solution would be a plastic 'cap' that snaps into the magnets for the side buttons and fits to the G900 shell shape. The plastic could be quite thin since it wouldn't need to be responsible for any of the mouse's structural rigidity, so it could probably be made so that it adds only a few grams.
I just found out that my local public library is now offering free 3D scanning and low cost 3D printing. So I'm going to take my G900 in and take scans without the right side button cap and of the button cap itself. Then in CAD software I'm going to model the snap-in piece to fit precisely and print it. I've been working on the shape with some sculpting clay, which I will probably go ahead and take a scan of the G900 with it on as well as a starting point in the CAD model. I'm going to be finding out about the structural strength of the 3D printing plastic, and whether it can be hollow or needs to be solid. Hopefully hollow so it will only add a couple of grams weight. I included comparison pics with a Mionix Naos 7000. I wasn't trying to match it exactly or anything--I just made what was most comfortable--but it was obviously the inspiration.
Comfortable with a hybrid palm/claw grip...
