Hunting for new gaming tablet.Need some help.

Thread Starter

Greetings mortals.

So for past 2 years or so i managed to mess up my nerves with nvidia shield tablet.Had so many problems with it that i could call live support as good friends by now.

1st tablet had tons of freezing overheating untill speakers burned and it was part of the recall program.

2nd tablet wifi problems ,internal storage problems and so on.

I love the green team GPU vise but Tablets are just nightmare atleast in my case.

I did purchase Tablet for internet, movies, music, gaming  not to have one more reason to sit hours and hours searching how to fix problems i should not need to fix at first place.

The recall program worked  perfectly and i got my new tablet before I even sended my old one to them. But i am just tired of al these endless problems.

So please OCN community reccomend me some good gaming tablet with sd card slot and somthig witch would run all android games on max settings and would have hdmi port for decent price if possible.

The Nvidia Shield is the "best" in terms if gaming, if it didn´t work for you then you might be a little too exigent. Gaming in tablets is just for casuals, if you want shinning graphics and portability, then your answer is a laptop. rolleyes.gif

Some people like mobile games such as Vain Glory which is a full fledged moba.

I recommend the Tab S2.. but it's been out for a while, if you can muscle through and wait for the Tab S3? Samsung doesn't refresh their high end tablets "as much" as everything else.

I don't recommend a Nvidia Shield, only because as someone else you suggested I had nothing but issues. Also, make sure you search up XDA and get a model that you know you can root. 2 years ago I bought a Tab S from Verizon and I wasn't able to root it due to the bootloader being locked. Not too too in "the know" when it comes to rooting but I do believe there is a method to get around locked bootloaders, it's just there wasn't enough demand for my tablet in particular for anyone with the knowledge to produce a root procedure. Benefits to rooting, especially for gaming tablet - Installing games directly to the SD card..... Which I'm pretty sure still isn't nativity supported on android but I can't confirm that.

There's really nothing out their that entails to the enthusiast market except Samsung... I don't even consider the Nvidia Shield to be at the enthusiast level simply because it's old and just lacks the specs... Samsung is really your only option.

TL;DR - Get the tab S2 or wait for the tab S3... make sure you can get a model that can root if you're interested in rooting.

A tablet for gaming needs a hand control (at least I need one).
Still on my old Samsung Note8 tablet from 2013, playing mostly Sonic the Hedgehog suits. Really having problem with the game's on-screen touch buttons.
However when it comes to games controlled by Android/Note8 gyro, the game play is super duper.

What is there in hand controls for Android and/or microUSB?
USB receiver for RF, Bluetooth, Wifi, USB-cable?

My Note8 will hang on until the battery is down to a day or two between charging
