Update:
The 70mm fan on the top of the case has been cut. I bet a opened a good 40-50% more airflow for the fan...The holes are quite spaced out on the vents.

As you see its placed in a pretty good spot to vent out hot air and air from the memory...

Something else that's in the case is the fan controller. I shortened up all the cables for the controller so things weren't out of control (pun)...

Yes but I suggest a few things. If I had the money, which I don't, to upgrade my entire system, new motherboard, new CPU, new DDR4 memory, I'd definitely get a m.2 drive.... This Z77 motherboard only has a Sata II mSata slot behind the motherboard which stinks. If I had a m.2 I'd free up the case with no sata power cables and no sata cables. You'd end up having a bunch of room...

I was really in a hurry this morning to cut the hole for the 70mm fan but I should have done the same for the PSU...which I believe I definitely need to do at some time in the future. I know my PSU needs to exhaust the hot air from it and the vents covering the air out on the PSU aren't helping that process... I also still need to cut out the holes for the bottom fans blowing in as well... So overall I still have a good amount of work left on the case...

On another note I'm also hoping to sell 1 of my modded H60 coolers along with the other 240 rad. I also have an Antec 620 cooler which I believe I have all the mounting hardware for, so I'll be selling that too. That will cover the cost of another tube of CLU and then some... Once I get a new tube I'll repaste the CPU with good CLU this time... I'm backing off my CPU overclock to 4.2Ghz because I'm seeing 75C max on the CPU which is a little toasty for my liking...

ALSO, the 3 mini fans that I ordered that'll go over the motherboard i/o shield will be blowing OUT of the case now. I originally though it'd be beneficial to blow in but definitely not! After feeling the air flow at that vent area, it is definitely going to help having those fans blow air out. I basically need to do everything I can to help get the hot air out of the top of the case at this point. After gaming the top of my case is pretty darn warm..lol

I'm also using my PC more like a Mac...if that's even possible. I'm using sleep mode now and having my PC go to sleep after 5 minutes of inactivity. Also having a keyboard button press to wake the PC from sleep. I'm jealous of my wife's iMac, its really slow and has bad hardware but things just work on it... No issues, no BSODs, just tap the keyboard and bam, in use... That's what I want this PC to be also.

I think I can do a better job lapping the CPU cooler. And with new thermal paste I should get much much better temps here soon! I'm switching out some fans for better airflow as well.

Update:
I installed the Arctic Cooling case fans for the fans blowing air into the case. Much more pleasing noise from the fans and definitely more airflow...

Here's a picture of the GTX 970 Strix. Pretty awesome card I might say. I'm sure Pascal will make this card seem like old tech...

Next I went through and redid some of the cables to have better cable management. I must say this case is well designed. The cables easily fit and I have no real space issues to deal with...

So now I'm just waiting on the PWM version of the F12 fan and my last mod will be some liquid metal thermal paste for the CPU. I've backed by CPU down to 4.3GHz and I don't go over 60C on the CPU while gaming which I feel is pretty good..

Update:

Short little update. I ordered another tube of CLU... This time I hope I get a "good" condition tube that isn't half dried up... I also decided that I'm going to take a good amount of time this upcoming weekend to lap the CPU cooler and CPU properly. I did a really quick job and I think the CPU cooler could definitely benefit from a better job. I'm hoping to get the CPU cooler PERFECTLY flat and also I'll pull out my buffer and get it to a perfectly mirror finish like I have in the past with previous coolers!

I also believe the mounting pressure that I'm putting on the CPU is really high. I'm compressing the springs completely but I'm also tightening it past that to where I feel there's not really much more slack in the screws... The backplate is very sturdy with the cooler so I'm not too worried about the motherboard.

I'll have new pictures and temperature results of the CLU on the CPU again once I get it here on Friday(tomorrow). I've also been considering the next 1-2 years upgrade path for my setup... Here's what I've got so far...

1. Z170 Motherboard with m.2 slot
2. Intel i5-6600k
3. m.2 SSD 512GB minimum, possibly NVME
4. 4k Monitor!!!
5. Pascal/Polaris GPU

I'd think after those upgrades my setup is going to be pretty stellar. It's great now but I can't wait for a 4k monitor now...I'll just need the hardware to drive the system once I go to 4k...which it seems that's the new 1080p...

Update:

Alright!!! Almost completely done with my build! Got some CLU this morning and to my surprise my 40mm fans arrived early from china!

This is the PK-1 thermal paste:

AND NOW: CLU!!!!!

I'm sure there will be some settling in temperature but my initial results show a drop of 8C from the PK-1

You just make me want CLU smile.gif

Nice fit on the 40mm fans.
