Oh wait, I was picturing that with just the Blank screensaver test. I don't know why.

And yeah, pictures can be uploaded here using the Insert Image button.

Hmm. I'm not interested in 1080p on a 27" monitor. A 24", yeah, but 27" I hear is too big for 1080p.

37brightness.jpg 3326k .jpg file

As requested. both on contrast 40.

I run 37 brightness.

It looks like you see some brown tint, but that is only on the side and it is something that only the camera picks up.
You don't see it in real life.
As you can see certainly not the top half of the screen.

I did try the blue filter and I can tell you one thing: That is a setting you should stay away from.
The Asus has four levels of that and It really looks like someone took a piss on your screen.
I run that on 0.

Thank you. This is what I asked for before when I asked to see the Blank screensaver with a brightness of say 60-80, anywhere in there.

Maybe all this panels have some brown tint to a certain degree. One slight more than the other.

The camera picks it up more than you/I can see with my own eyes.

But If you experience this as very annoying you should not keep it idd.

I tried the Blue Light setting on the XB241H when I bought it. I used the lightest setting (the least amount of blue light reduction). I liked it better than without it on. It was just the right amount of blue light reduction for this panel. However, I noticed the top-left section being an ugly brown compared to the rest of the panel while the bottom-right was almost bluish.

So, I disabled the Blue Light feature.

Eventually, I began playing one of my older games called Descent 2 and due to how very dark most of the maps can be, the horrible backlight uniformity is very distracting. The same is true for certain dark-scened movies I have. It's like the top-half (or top third maybe) has a dark hole of blackness while the rest is milky with brightness. It's very distracting and it looks like crap. My 8-year old Samsung 2253BW's backlight uniformity is far better than this.

To top it off with the XB241H, Acer made a poor choice with the placement of the OSD indicator telling me which signal type I am using. It's dead-center and it's kinda big. It can't be moved or anything and it stays there for like 3 seconds and those 3 little seconds can seem like a long time when it's right in the way.

I still can't reproduce your issues. The Acer works completely fine for me in everyday situations. I don't use the blue light feature because it makes everything way too yellowish for me.

The bottom like 4cm are a litlle brighter than the very top and on a fully white screen I have a slight brownish tint in the upper and lower corners but nowhere near as severe as S7Emilio, both of which are viewing angle issues I think because when I look straight at those areas it doesn't happen. When I use a fully black screen I get a glowy border next to the bezel but the majority of the screen is quite unifrom.

I will try to get decent pics later, but judging by previous pictures I took I don't expect them to show what I actually see on the screen very accurately.

In the end it depends on what you're used to, what your requirements are and how sensitive you are. Frankly TwoCables, I don't think you'll be happy with any 24" G-sync screen on the market right now because they're all pretty much the same. The Dell might stand out, idk I haven't looked it up, so you might wanna wait until it drops in price. Or you can wait for the ASUS PG258Q - I personally wouldn't go for that one because I'm doubtful about the 240Hz and possible issues that come with it and knowing ASUS and seeing the "ROG" in its name they probably will charge like 600€ for it.

Oh and Acer just announced a new 24.5" screen XB251HQT, maybe worth a look. Hope there's a version without the stupid eye tracking thing.
