I bought the G2460PG which is more than likely the same exact panel but with Gsync instead and out of the box it looks really gross especially next to a 1440p IPS, but i havent calibrated it yet since i've been giving it time to warm up. I checked for any dead/stuck pixels and there were none, but the uniformity i find to be pretty bad right now. The lower half of the screen is much brighter than the top, i'm viewing it dead center from about 2 feet away so i dont think its due to any vertical gamma shifting.

I'm not sure if letting it burn in for a few days will help, i can only assume yes, so i'll see about running it at full brightness overnight and see if it helps any. Otherwise the screen is pretty good, everything you'd expect from a 24" 144hz TN panel.

So now I'm feeling stuck. It looks to me like you had the exact same uniformity problem that I had with the XB241H. Plus, I don't know what a 500:1 looks like compared to 1000:1, but I don't want a monitor if it sucks! I need to be able to live at it "24/7".

Maybe the problem is Blue light filter + 144hz-180hz.

In this review the monitor is looking fantastic! https://youtu.be/CHNSzYJVFMM?t=2m39s

No, I'm not using the Blue Light filter. It has no effect on this problem anyway.

Again, this is not something a reviewer will notice unless they perform a lengthy in-depth review. Adam at PCMonitors.info does do an in-depth review, and he did notice this problem.

https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/asus-pg248q/

He talks about it in the supplemental 30-minute review video. He still didn't notice the problem as much as I did though because he didn't spend enough time with the monitor to notice just how bad this mesh and grid-like pattern problem really is.

The Tech Chap's review video above is precisely why I went ahead and ordered this monitor. If he had done a very in-depth review, then he would have discovered that this monitor is crap.

What can be seen on the image is what my XB241H had, brightness a lot lower in the top left area.

This looks just nasty for me and therefore I returned the monitor.

I think I missed a step. I thought we were talking about the mesh and grid-like pattern when overclocking the refresh rate (with the vertical lines being more visible than the horizontal ones). I don't have much of a problem with this monitor's backlight uniformity. Don't get me wrong, it sucks too, but it's not defective-looking like the XB241H I had.

Got my XB241h yesterday, and it looks kinda good so far.

Only things i found : The Power-LED brightness shines a bit into the Panel and the lower Contrast at 160 to 180hz. (But honestly 144hz should be enough)

The upper left Corner Problem is not there at my Display. (Lower Brightness). Testet it at night without any light in my Room and the white Screen from the Eizo-Test.

I like it what Acer made out of the Panel compared to the VG248QE, MG248 and PG248.

Had three Eizo EV2450 before for testing, sure the IPS Panel was superior (Contrast and Colors) to the TN in the XB241, but the Backlight-Bleeding and IPS-Glow was annoying

Yeah, I had to put electrical tape over that LED light which covered half of the two buttons on either side of the light.

Thats what i liked with the Eizo EV2450. The Monitor had a ugly bright Power-LED too, but you where able to switch it off in the Settings. It lid only at the Power-On event, then it shut off and wasnt annoying anymore.

I think there is no superior Panel-Tech at the Moment. User have to make compromises with every Tech there.
