Acer Predator XB241H Gsync - Page 6

I got mine today and while I don't have BLB or colour uniformity issues I just cant get the clours right.

I got it somewhat decent but I just can't get the Taskbar and start menu to be proper black and the upper bar where the tabs are in Firefox have a somewhat greenish tint.

Oh and is the OSD meant to be somewhat brownish? xD

High DPI is nice to have, yeah. Update me on what you end up getting if you want

Coud you do a test where you have a window (i.e. browser) with a certain color in it and pull it around on the screen and see if that color kind of changes, for example gets darker or brighter? For me, the color would look darker in the upper left area and brighter in the lower right area. Could you also do the Afterburner grid test I described a few posts above (http://www.overclock.net/t/1597127/acer-predator-xb241h-gsync/0_100#post_25406458)? Thanks in advance!

I will when I get to and once I fixed the colours. Can you explain that afterburner grid test thing?

Just did thing with the colours, they dont change when dragging it around.
I'll also post a BLB pic tomorrow.

My screen is a lot darker in the upper left area than on the rest of the screen, and as a result of that the contrast is worse in that area. If you (as can be seen in the pictures I posted above) open the detached Afterburner monitor (need MSI Afterburner installed, it has a monitor that you can detach by clicking "Detach" above the monitor which is next to the main Afterburner window by default), you can see green grids on black background. In the area where the screen is a lot darker, the contrast is so bad that the grid is not visible, whereas in the better-lit areas, it is clearly visible (again, see the pictures I posted above), that all is of course when looking at the screen straight-on, not from an angle above or below.

These are the images I sent to the Czech Acer techncians. Think they will understand? lol this is ridiculous

The first one isn't bad though?

I didn't get to install afterburner yet but I've done it with the ASUS tool which has a grid in red.

And here's the BLB, it's a ****ty one though haha in reality I get a bit of a glow around the edges and that's it. I'll see if I get a better one later.

I'm still struggeling with the colours, especially I can't get the taskbar and start menu to be solid black. I tried Malinkadinks ICC and settings but to me that seems off. Can anyone give me some hints how to adjust this thing properly? When I get the Desktop to my likings games look weird and too dark or other stuff seems off. I'm a bit lost right now xD

The first image is just a screenshot.

There should not be much difference if it is red or green, so your XB241H may actually not have that issue. It would be very helpful if you could still make the same picture as I did with the detached Afterburner monitor (download link: http://www.guru3d.com/files-get/msi-afterburner-beta-download,30.html), I could use it as an instrument of persuasion (lol) to show to the Czech Acer technicians, I would be very thankful for that!

I actually did a color calibration with a Colormunki Smile (cheap colorimeter), I attached the ICC profile I got. For me, many colors still seemed off too, but that might have been due to the bad backlight uniformity, I don't know. I also set the RGB gain in the OSD to 47/47/50, don't know if that will help though.
