I started up Rosetta on my server and got like 50 tasks after the first one was almost completely downloaded.  There is probably 500M that has to be downloaded in project initialization, but after that getting lots of tasks was no problem.

Yeah the 1st one was big. I got that one, did a few updates and added CSG. I got several sets worth then some Rosetta downloaded. Looks like I have 24 now and more keep downloading as the time adjusts on that 1st unit.
Just be careful if you happen to start a whole bunch of Rosetta at once, like on a 2P. The first couple minutes can be VERY VERY disk write intensive (if you have an SSD is shouldnt be a problem). and if the there is too much latency the tasks can restart themselves.

Good to know. Guess thats why only 1 started in the first few minutes? I only had one to start and I grabbed several SanDisk 120gb SSDs for $38 the other day.

Did you have more than 1 download? if so they should have started as well, i noticed rosetta would only download 1 wu the first time you allow new tasks (on newer clients anyway, my old AD server running BOINC 5 got a whole mess at once) and then more units will follow with subsequent connections to the server.

I only noticed 1 download and working at first. Time estimate was 8 hours and I had it set to 1 day total of work. I got several more later then it said I was out of space. Ooops only 10gb for root. 1st batch of CSG tasks finished and I booted to the live CD and fixed that.

What really irked me was that the client decided to pause some CSG and start some of those Rosetta. So I paused those so I could resume them after the event started. I started them at like 88% and they got a compute error. Not really a fan of Rosetta at all with the compute errors on the tablets and after pauses.

Darn, rosetta is a space hog.

I only got nine of the units. Eats up like 820.21MB which is huge compared to the others I have run.
