Fractal Define Nano S and beQuiet Dark Rock 3

Thread Starter
I am thinking about upgrading to a larger case than my current silverstone SG13 as I want to be able to accomodate two 3.5" drives along with my two 2.5" and so I have decided I want the define nano s ( assuming I can get it reasonably priced in nz .... mad.gif )

with this upgrade I want to ditch my h80i as it really was the only thing suitable for my current case and it is a bit noisy and I would prefer a nice air cooler.
I had a look around and the be Quiet dark rock 3 (not pro) looks like it will do the job for me really well however one thing:

the case spec says it can accommodate coolers up to 160mm tall and the dark rock 3 spec says height of 160mm

can anybody help me / advise me if this could potentially be a problem as the cooler might just be a little large.
Noctua nh-u14s is 174mm tall (was another option I looked at before noticing the height)

cheers.

It should fit but only with non-windowed panel.

See this build with the Noctua D15 and the thread on reddit about it:

As I've seen, the Dark rock is about the same height. You should verify but watch out because the specs you have for U14s are different from those from Noctua website.

Hi! I'm also hoping to use the dark rock 3 with the windowed nano S and was wondering if you had any luck.

Thanks smile.gif

Edit: Also if so, care to boast any pics of the build? I'm concerned for RAM clearance

Edit: Found a completed build here if anyone is interested https://pcpartpicker.com/b/Dpf8TW
