Well, I am using 0% and this is still too bright at night and I am using brightness settings for graphics card to lower the brightness even more for non-gaming purposes during the night, so this is why I am not bothered with retention, like you said it is small for lower brightness, and this screen is bright as fcuk, no need to use high brightness settings.

i really like this monitor so i would like to buy it but dont know if i would enjoy as much with this video card.
i will mostly play fps games like battlefield 1, some cod games. doom.
Anyone here with a 1070 that might give some insight about this ?
Asus and Acer prices will never drop to UC88 level and prices and also they are faulty garbage.
I had 980 Ti with UC98 so this is basically the same like 1070. Very most of games maxed out, those mentioned by you should run easy, but in ones like Witcher 3 some settings downgrade is needed, you cannot max everything out even on 980 Ti and even without hairworks, so for 3440x1440 you will need to downgrade some of most demanding settings like Foliage Distance and etc. But overall 1070 is enough if you are okay with lowering settings to like High in the most demanding games and to Medium in the most broken ones. And those are very few, most of games will run 3440x1440 maxed out on 1070 24/7. If you are not Ultra freak then go ahead and don't worry.
You can also check upcoming monitor, from what I remember Samsung has 3440x1440 100 Hz FreeSync scheduled for Q3. Not really a fan of their VA panels, but there are people who like them.Edited by Krzych04650 - 7/28/16 at 3:00am
