It looks like the 6850k is now appearing at retailers - this is the chip with 6 cores. Any idea what kind of bins we can expect?. Is it expected to bin up to 4.2Ghz easily?

I'm expecting a 4.1-4.3 range similar to the 5775C. We will not be binning the 6850K initially, due to the very small demand for the 5930K last time.

I'll add a disappointed voice to the conversation and say I think it's a shame. There's lots of information coming out, but for now the 6850k looks like the ideal chip for gaming on 2-way SLI x99.

Unless you change your mind about binning them I'll be looking at either spending 2-3 times the 6800k price for the 6900k, or accepting 8x speeds on SLI. redface.gif

Alright, enough of you have expressed interest in the 6850K. We will be binning them.

How do you think the 6800K or 6850K at 4.2 will stack up against the 5820K at 4.6? I'm in the market for one of these very soon and will get from you.

I saw you also had a 5820K at 4.7 available a couple weeks back. Will you still continue binning Haswell-E?

I'm still not 100% sure how the average Broadwell-E will stack up against the average Haswell-E processor. I should have quite a few in my hands by the end of the week, so time will tell.

Once all the dust settles down, if Haswell-E is still the clear winner we would start binning them again. I'm optimistic Broadwell-E will have the slight edge.
