Thread Starter
Hey guys,

Im looking for a device that will let me plug my speakers and headphones into it. Then push a button and have the sound go to my headphones, push it again the sound goes to my speakers.

Does such a thing exist?

-Sean

EDIT

found this little guy.

looks like just what I want.

In 1 in 2 out mode, pushing the red button will switch between the outputs?

I've never seen a switch personally. I just use a splitter and mute the one that I'm not using.

Just a follow up for future google searchers that might come across this thread.

That little circuit board in the OP totally works. Just got mine in the mail its about 2"x1". I plugged the source ( my computer ) into the AUX-in next to the red button, then my headphones into one of the outs and my speakers into the other outs. Clicking the button switches between my speakers and headphones. Totally freaking works! Its perfect. EXACTLY what I was looking for.thumb.gifthumb.gifthumb.gif

Out of curiosity, why did you want such a thing?

I do something similar, which is I have my headphones and my external speakers both always on, but I just manually have the volume knob for the externals set to zero.

My headphones are always on, just not always on my head. The sound bleed on them is small enough that it doesnt matter.

I suppose this switch would be ... easier? But not by much. So I am curious anyway why this button is making things better smile.gif

Cause I was tired of plugging in my headphones, I just think this is super elegant. Ill update this thread with how I implement it into my desk, its going to be pretty seamless.

I've been looking for something similar for quite a long time. I have used this in the past:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DRGDD6W/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's bulky with the vga ports also, but it had four 3.5mm jacks and was $10 while being a heavy duty metal unit. Worked flawlessly. With my current sound blaster z I just have my speakers in one output and my headphones plugged into the headphone amp output and just use the creative suite software to switch between headphones or speaker in one click.

That ebay one you posted is nice, just wish it was enclosed.
