Honestly I won't go sli again. Yes you will get extra power and most games support it but devil is in details. Non sli experience is just smoother. Micro stutters and frame time issues are serious in my eyes.
Then you have heat and noise issues which are annoying as hell. And little things like enabling sli every driver change.
This was pretty much my experience with Crossfire as well. Sure the framerates are great, but the tweaking, stuttering, noise/thermals and new titles often not supporting (or suffering from) multiple cards made me realize that getting one top-tier card and not trying to game at 4k just makes more sense. My single Fury-X is crushing The Division at 1600p right now.
