That button adds a lot of spice to your posts smile.gif
I'll have to read up on Turbo Boost 3.0 and see if HW-E is applicable. Would be awesome to get some higher core clocks for gaming that doesn't utilize all 8.

Sure did, thanks! I'll have to get in depth with that feature on a later date as there's more pressing issues to be addressed!

What are your guys' thoughts on the Angelbird | Wings PX1? I'm thinking of ordering one because my current 950 is just sitting there with a black heatsink on top. Looks kind of ghetto, but $75 USD + shipping and customs is making me hold off thinking.gif

I'm not opting for it. I did a deep dive on it back in May when I was researching my build.

What I found was that the drive only thermally throttles under specific benchmarking conditions. Even under that load, a single well positioned case fan was enough to prevent throttling.

The rest of the time in real-world applications it requires no cooling whatsoever.

I prefer the aesthetics of the drive in my m.2 slot over a PCIe so that's what I ended up doing.

Why not?!

Edit: I can't even judge. I'm water cooling my RAM.

Another good thing is that they are smaller than PX1, looks good and way cheaper. thumb.gif

Yeah, I'd go that way before the PX1.

That said, IMHO the beauty of the m.2 is using the m.2 socket.

Yep, you guys did it, m.2 it is! thumb.gif Too bad the layout on the RVE10 doesn't look as nice as the Asus X99-E WS board. IMO, it has the perfect dual usb 3.0 header location and m.2 ssd port. On the RVE10, the m.2 gets blocked by the single USB 3.0 header, and the second header is way too far for me to route the cable neatly. I ended up having to tuck the second usb 3.0 cable in the depths of the PSU chamber, never to be seen or used again sad-smiley-002.gif
