Build Log - [Millennium] - Mercury S8S - Page 126

sexpot, I just saw your post on the watercooling subforum. This is how to calibrate the MPS. I got this guide from Shoggy.

Quote:
Hello,

make sure that you have configured the sensor the right way as seen here:

Especially the calibration curve must be the same. If it looks different you are working with the wrong settings.

If the reading still looks weird you can try this: go to the tab configuration and untick the automatic zero flow calibration. Remove power from the pumps while the system is running (no problem as long as there is no load), wait a short moment to make sure that the water does not move anymore, click the button "set current flow as zero" and wait till the process is finished. Afterwards power the pump again.

Your tubing size seems quite large and the default configuration might not work. In this case you would have to do your own calibration.

To calibrate the sensor manually have a look at the following screenshot.

1.) Clear all data points.

2.) Start to set your loop to a lower flow rate. Click on the plus icon to take unscaled value from the sensor. This value describes the pressure value that the sensor sees.

3.) Check the flow rate from another reference flow sensor or check it manually with a bucket and stopwatch and enter its flow rate value here. Click on the add button to add a new calibration point to the curve. You have to repeat step 2 + 3 for at least three times to be able to let the aquasuite calculate a calibration curve. You can add up to 16 points but that should not be necessary. I recommend to do five or six point. The first at your lower flow rate and the last at your maximum. The other points should stay within the typical range that you want to use so that this range will be accurate.

4.) When you have add enough calibration points let the aquasuite calculate a curve by pressing this button.

5.) Each of your own calibration points will be indicated with a green dot. Make sure that they follow a rising curve. If for example on point in the middle is lower than the other points you have done something wrong: a typo in the number field for example. It is normal that the newly calibrated curve will not be completely in line with all you calibration points. If there is a specific range that you want to fix manually you can click on the red point and edit its values a bit lower in the text field.

When everything is done and working you should export your calibration settings and save them somewhere where you will find them again if necessary.

kind regards
Sven

Thx NeeqOne, I got it figured out. Just wondering now how to edit the graph's min/max to 0 ~ 2.5gpm

Edit - I sorted out the graph units, but somehow deleted the numerical value lol, d'oh >_<;

This is with the pump at full speed, getting 0.9GPM. That EK Dual D5 top is looking mighty fine sitting in the corner. I was shooting for 1.3~1.5GPM, but the single D5 just can't cut it with my current loop.

Looking good!

I like that, first time I've seen a spoiler within three more spoilers, lol!

Excellent photos.
Great job on the tubing, and the cables. Pump is nicely mounted, and of course that reservoir through the midplate trick!
Those fans really pop in the build, with their unique white blades, complimenting the black and white scheme.

Looking forward to seeing more, as it nears the finish line, lol.

Not to confuse, that is a very old photo, I've moved to gunmetal interior parts and have my rads mounted and plumbed, all soft tubing is complete and my plexi pump top and D5 are mounted and the Emerging Res Mod is finished all holes drilled and lined, the Aquaero 6 LT mounted with some of the wiring complete. I only put up that pic since it shows how well the R5E10 is going to feature from above. oh yea. smile.gif

Read in another thread, the great IT DIVA recently purchased a two tone S8S from panels and parts with extra aesthetic parts. Looks like I will do the same come November - December white exterior gunmetal interior, using the four S8 test bench parts bottom mobo tray midchassis and right side rail to save a little money was a bad idea, since it takes away an entire chassis I love so much.

Had written up and totalled the S8S from parts, it was $329 I believe, so adding on those last few parts plus a few more I thought came with the larger components but NO, they are all separate purchases, oh geez.

bottom panel $36.95
midchassis $28.95
ATX mobo tray and stealth drive mount $14.95 + $12.95
right side rail $9.95
PCIe cage $17.95
140mm fan hole cover $7.95
240mm fan hole cover $7.95
120mm fan hole cover $6.95
360mm radiator side mount $19.95

Another $164.50

$329 + $164.50 = $493.5 plus shipping

Honestly that’s about what I paid for my current S8S purchased as a chassis sku with the extra parts I needed way back in 2015.

Here’s a great video from the highly skilled Daniel of Singularity Computers, sleeving and custom cable creation using the MDPC-X sleeving from Germany. I do believe he and Mr. Ruffhi would get along splendidly. biggrin.gif

And you have every right to be, 1 month away from daddy time! Congratulations brucey poo, if you weren't so far away we'd definitely setup play dates with the young ones while we ogle S8S's haha thumb.gif

Been working on tweaking my CPU Core OC, currently stable 4 hours RealBench, but I'm gunning for 8 hours. It keeps crashing sometime between 4 ~ 8 but I'm not sure at what point since I'm always sleeping or at work when it does. Testing out 1.345V & 1.96 Vccin with LLC 6 right now.

Here's a shot from last night at about 2 hours in, notice the Case Ambient temps @_@! .... soooo hot here and the dang AC broke. Lasted me a good 4 years so I got my money's worth. thumb.gif
I didn't want to screen shot from the system since it's doing it's thang, but here's a potato phone pic tongue.gif

I like, no I LOVE that screenshot potato pic. What is the app you're running on the right side? How did you overclock a 5960X 8core to 4.7GHz?

Whaaaaaaaaaaaa???

AC should last 10years bro, don't let those dishonest service people finagle you, most of the time its just a capacitor or switch or contact, a $69 part, you only need a NEW AC unit when the coil begins to physically break down out back inside your compressor.

Did you get that CPU from Siliconlottery.com?

Once you get stable, I would turn down your pump speed just to see if your temps do not improve. Your loop is fairly short, not cooling your GPU correct? D5 at 100% may be optimal for long complex loops, but from what I've read, its not for short simple loops, slow down the coolant molecules and let them absorb more heat as they pass. I would try 50%, 35%, 30%, and even 25%, one of those pump speeds may improve your thermals over 100%.

I told you dude, we will be in San Francisco most all of October with the new baby and family and friends taking in the Giants baseball post-season in a small condo across the street from the ballpark. You are welcome to drive down for a few days and we can hang out in SF eat some amazing food, take in some classic MLB baseball and trade parenting tips and tricks. smile.gif

OSD App - I'm using Aida64 to monitor the system. It's in the preference -> OSD -> Sensors and whatnot. Can't remember the exact path off the top of me nogan. I'll have to post a bios shot of the settings used for this, but don't want to yet since I don't think it's quite stable. Some say 4HR RB is enough, but I want that 8HR biggrin.gif CPU is indeed from SL, can do the 1HR stress test easily with 1.285V, but that's too short IMO.

I'll try your pump trick once the full system is OC'd and stable. Still need to work on Cache OC and finally the Memory. The loop is on CPU + GPU and getting 0.9GPM at full pump speed. Everything is whisper quiet as you can see from the rad/intake fans. Sub 900 rpm is bliss.

AC - I'm not butthurt that it died, I got it for $10 at a garage sale a long time ago. Can use an updated one so I ain't mad tongue.gif

Let me see how work is during the sept - oct period and I may take you up on the offer. It'll only be me though if I can swing by as Mrs Potty already has commitments and we don't actually have a babeh yet haha. It's on the list of "to do" biggrin.gif

Edit - the guru's in the HW-E OC thread have advised me that my CPU package temp is reaching boiling point and that my VRM temps are also getting too high. That RVE10 mono block is starting to look real good. Also, for my use case scenario - Just video gaming and editing ~2 minute frag videos, 4HR RB is likely more than enough. The 4+ hr errors is likely to be thermally induced bit errors.

I'm going to redo my CPU OC and target 4HR RB and find my low voltage level. And mix in a few other stress tests once I find 4HR RB stable. Whoop Whoop thumb.gif
